PLEDGE: be specific!

The main pledge is the UFPJ pledge that you won't support any member of Congress who supports the Iraq War -- meaning, in particular, any DEMOCRAT member of Congress who supports the Iraq War. The purpose of the pledge is to make it clear that we are not fooled by Democrats who claim to be anti-war but actually are not.
How about this pledge --

"WE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS - Democrat or Republican - WHO WILL VOTE FOR MORE FUNDING FOR BUSH'S OIL WAR!"

Or, how about this pledge --

"WE WILL CONTACT, TALK TO, PERSUADE AND OTHERWISE PRESSURE ALL MEMBERS OF CONGRESS - Democrat or Republican -TO VOTE NAY ON ANY FUNDING FOR THE IRAQ WAR!"

And, even this one --

"WE WILL SUPPORT ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS - Democrat or Republican - WHO WILL CONSISTENTLY VOTE NAY ON MORE FUNDING FOR BUSH'S OIL WAR!"

There seems to be an idea going around that we need to be careful about any demonstrations where the organizers haven't taken the right pledge. There seems to be some paranoia too - some idea that Dennis Kucinich has people out there infiltrating anti-war protest organizations to somehow turn them into huge Democratic Party rallies . . . . really?

If we - volunteer supporters of Dennis Kucinich - are out there 'co-opting', it's only for one purpose: to make people aware that the U.S. can and should be OUT OF IRAQ IN 60 DAYS. To make people aware that the only way to bring the war to an end before 2009 is to CUT OFF THE FUNDING NOW!

PEOPLE. UNITE!

FOCUS!

CUT OFF THE FUNDING FOR THE WAR!

Kucinich's Dilemma 23.Dec.2006 17:19

I'm in favor of this pledge, but Kucinich is not. If he pledged to not support any candidate for the presidency who voted for more funding for the occupation, I'd be thrilled.

Kucitizen: "Or, how about this pledge --

'WE WILL CONTACT, TALK TO, PERSUADE AND OTHERWISE PRESSURE ALL MEMBERS OF CONGRESS - Democrat or Republican -TO VOTE NAY ON ANY FUNDING FOR THE IRAQ WAR!'"

I've been doing this for the last couple years. I would add that "funding for the One War in the Middle East" is more appropriate, since we also, through our proxy, mercilessly bombed the Lebanese people and continue to destroy the Palestinian nation.

Kucitizen: "And, even this one --

'WE WILL SUPPORT ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS - Democrat or Republican - WHO WILL CONSISTENTLY VOTE NAY ON MORE FUNDING FOR BUSH'S OIL WAR!'"

No to that one, and that's the problem that you're not seeing. Merely voting nay on more funding, but pledging to support Mussolini if he's the party's chosen candidate, is immoral and reprehensible.

MONEY PIT 25.Dec.2006 00:26

DOLLAR BILL

Ya know..there is alot of money wasted in this "democratic" F****** society.
We are suporting "GEORGE and LAURAS" hobby of torturing and killing innocent people and then stealing their oil.
How about at least 27 milllion a year to abuse, torture and kill animals in the name of science. Those researchers must be really high on drugs to think they are doing anything important. They are no better than the addict on the street.
At least the addict on the street isn't torturing animals. Most of them love animals and would never hurt them.
Can you imagine what good could be done if those funds weren't wasted??????????????Let's see now????????

In 2004 and since, no other Democratic Presidential candidate who is or was a member of the House or Senate during this war has a 100% record of voting against funding the war in Iraq.

Kucinich has exactly that record -- 100% against funding the war.

About Lebanon: Kucinich has done everything possible to direct the attention of the public to the horrors wrought by the bombing of Lebanon. He made a trip to Lebanon to talk to people there, documenting evidence of U.S. manufacture of bombs used to destroy Beirut. (He has also visited Palestinians in the occupied territory.)

Video of Dennis and Elizabeth Kucinich (and evidence of U.S. manufacture of bomgs) in the suburbs of Beirut:

(However, U.S. involvement is kept secret and there is no opportunity for any member of Congress to vote against it. In matters relating to the sale of weapons by the U.S., Kucinich again has a 100% record against.)

About Animal Rights -- "THE ONLY NO VOTE" (against passage of AETA)

House Judiciary Chairman Sensenbrenner spoke in favor of AETA [Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act] . Dennis Kucinich . . . noted that the bill infringed on civil liberties of people conducting civil disobedience or undercover investigations. Then Sensenbrenner [actiing as/for Speaker of the House] . . . called for a voice vote, and Kucinich cast the only no vote.
