Okay i just returned from my grocery run at New Season's. On the way i sauntered into Walgreens next door, hoping that they had done the right thing by now and begun to stock some paper products with recycled content.
No printer paper with recycled content. And no college ruled paper with recycled content either. Inquiries were made with store staff to verify this.
Then i did the right thing and left without buying anything.
Hooray, hooray! It is indeed possible for the consumer to exercise self-restraint and refuse to impulsively buy whatever is on the shelf.
Now may be an appropriate time to write the Walgreens CEO.
And Barack, I AM GREEN, HEAR ME ROAR:
-- HOW WE DO INFRASTRUCTURE MATTERS!
-- HOW WE DO ECONOMIC STIMULUS MATTERS!
That means when we build a building, bridge, road, etc., our off-road construction machinery is all-electric. No more smoky, smelly diesel engines idling all day and night, belching fumes. No. That will not be tolerated.
Nor will contractors be tolerated who bilk the government huge sums of money to supply shoddy equipment and services.
The duty of the wealthy is Right Spending. Instead of throwing up obstacles to a genuine Green Economic Transition, and complaining about how it will cost too much.
THERE IS PLENTY OF CAPITAL SLOSHING AROUND IN AMERICA. THE PROBLEM LIES IN ITS DISTRIBUTION AND INCLUDES THE FACT THAT TOO FEW HANDS ARE HOLDING ONTO IT AND INVESTING IT IN THE SAME OLD MORALLY BANKRUPT AND ETHICALLY COMPROMISED INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS.
MASQUERADING AS AN AGENT OF CHANGE WHILE IMPLEMENTING "CENTRIST" AND RIGHT-OF-CENTER ECONOMIC POLICIES IS ONLY GOING TO PISS PEOPLE OFF.
"ROAR" (A DeitySonic Roar -- inaudible to the human ear)
