Due to the recent events in our country of police brutality and racism, the Multnomah Youth Commission (the official youth policy body of Multnomah County and the City of Portland) is hosting a Call to Action event on Sunday, February 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rosewood Initiative (16126 S.E. Stark, Portland). We would love youth and young adults between the ages of 13 and 21 to participate in this event that aims to give youth and young adults voice in our community with the following objectives:

Creating a safe space for youth and young adults to share their thoughts and feelings regarding police brutality, racial profiling and negative media portrayal towards youth of color, especially black males.

For all non-black youth and young adults to identify how to be an ally and stand in solidarity with black youth.

By the end of the event, each young person will be connected to an action team (organized by youth and young adults) with contact information, meet up dates and potential adult support.

We will provide FREE FOOD, RAFFLES AND BUS PASSES!
