"Legal" Weed Moguls Ignore Victims of Drug War Rotting in Prisons

While Colorado and Washington fete their newly minted "Aristocracy of Pot", these fresh millionaires seem to be ignoring the insane sentencing and Reefer Madness still infecting the nation.

20 years\\\? You're puttin' us ON!
All these pot moguls are really raking in the cash in Colorado and Washington, growing enough weed "legally" to literally get you the Gas Chamber in some states. You'd think smoking all this potent grass would somehow influence these VISA gold card nouveau rich into perhaps donating a few hundred thou towards NORML and any other organizations desperately trying to free the tens of thousands of pot prisoners presently wasting away in our beloved penal system. How do think some guy who's doing 5 years in Utah for possessing a pound of weed feels when he sees these collegiate types gloating on CNN about all the dough they're making by growing and dealing TONS of buds, producing and distributing oils and drinks and candy and anything else they can dip their greedy hands into. Scores of people on parole end up with a three strike life sentence just for smoking a joint and getting caught with a bit of THC in their blood. In Texas a JOINT can still land you six months in a cozy little jail. Just North in Oklahoma, a first time one joint bust is twice that long. Sell that joint to a narc and it's a solid two year sentence. In Louisiana the first offense for growing ONE PLANT is a mandatory FIVE YEARS in prison. Do that deal twice and you are in for twenty years, just like Leadbelly. But don't lose hope. Mississippi gave up ruinng lives over small amounts and just fines you if you flash it. Blues tourism has really lightened that scene up a lot. Nashville is sort of OK, but Tennessee will lock you up for a year for ANY amount. Alabama too, despite that Skynrd song. Florida too. Have an ounce? The Sunshine State will throw away the key for FIVE YEARS. Chain gang anyone? You get the disgusting and intolerable picture. Let's see some of these (mostly white male) THC Tycoons pour some dough into changing the laws for at least simple possession. It's barbaric. But noooo, they're all over TV this month bragging about how much they're making and that house with the dock on the bay they want to build. It's a stoner version of "Wall Street" with preppy Michael Douglas wannabe's seeing nothing but dollar signs. I was taught that Marijuana is a sort of sacred plant, with strange paranormal powers that can turn the tables on those who misuse it's energy. Hippy-ish I know, but after being around it for so long in so-called "hip circles", I can attest to it's psychic and telepathic properties. Growing it so it provides the effect it was designed for requires a great deal of love and attention and affection and a precise balance of nuttrients and light. Indoor weed, as good as it can be, will never achieve the status of true outdoor homegrown cultivated, harvested and cured correctly. These massive corporate grow-houses can never produce the highest quality, the most long lasting, and medicinally potent bud. The whole operation is way too impersonal, too sterile and routine to produce a plant that is actually strong because it has been dealing with actual weather, not just fake sun and constant warmness. It's clone city in these mega grow rooms. There's a real spiritual component that comes along with Shiva's flowers, whether you asked for it or not. Even the colors of most of these corporate buds are wrong when compared to true outdoor nugs. The green is too bright. And of course they are being bred for weight because there's more money there than in growing for pure quality. It's like bathtub gin- you'll get a buzz and think it's the real thing because that's all you can get, but it isn't Williams Chase.

I guess Portland's moguls have no comment. Soooo surprising!
