After we posted the GoFundMe request, Courtney learned that she was being brought to eviction court by her landlord. This comes after she'd received a 60-day no-cause eviction notice (which may or may not be legal under the new 90-day notice requirement), and in the middle of Portland's unprecedented housing crisis. As landlords raise rents to totally affordable levels, an eviction on her record would be a significant barrier to Courtney's ability to remain safely housed. She's in poor health, and homelessness would effectively be a death sentence.
Needless to say, she needs your support.
Her hearing is next Tuesday, April 12th, at 9am. It'll take place at the Multnomah County Courthouse in downtown Portland (SW 4th & Main), in room 120. Come out and show your support for Courtney!
