Restructure Period Outcomes Statement
[copied from the HRC website] here: http://www.portlandoregon.gov/oehr/62221
During the recent restructure period of the Portland Human Rights Commission (HRC), an ad hoc committee of HRC commissioners worked regularly over the past three months to evaluate and improve the Commission's organizational structure and processes.
Charged with advising City leaders on human rights issues, one of the goals of the committee was to elevate engagement with City elected officials while maintaining HRC's commitment to community priorities.
The outcomes of the restructure period will be the main topic of the commission's September 7th general meeting.
The major areas addressed by the committee have included:
HRC member capacity
Organization of the commission's strategic areas of focus
Information-gathering process for commission priorities
Strengthening engagement with City leaders and community members
Please join the Commission at its September public meeting to learn more about the work of the Portland Human Rights Commission.
