Thanks and more power to you all, I was unfortunately not able to attend
below (in main body of this article) are posted some similar and related questions for discussion to this Newswire which have had varying responses.
political change is imho not measured or achieved by annual Buy Nothing Day calls to action, weekly A-Radio newswire crossposts, or the usual schedule of KBOO hosts and guests discussing latest books or by-the-numbers street actions (most of which don't even make a blip on mass media of any kind, if anything get ridiculed via YouTube or FB outlets today). i.e. a 'wider audience' (including potential recruits) is 100% shunned or shut out. What is the point of only ever talking-to-each-other in an eternal snake-eating-own-tail, via these sometimes elaborately planned and produced actions (which don't result in change)?
I have not observed, measured or been affected by, since the early 2000s in the wake of 9/11 and the Afghanistan-Iraq illegal invasions, widespread or motivated activism at all from the radical left, much less that which brings about (or even hints at) meaningful or lasting change.
We're now headed over a cliff with the prospect of another Clinton presidency, and the Democrat party itself is as of mid 2016 proven, documented and self-admitted corrupt http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2016/09/433214.shtml
Where is the change, or even mere prospect of it, from all the much-vaunted activism on PDX IMC, KBOO or elsewhere in our region? The U.S.? (or even globally)
Look forward to your response. Thanks
