Ultimate Civics Training (intergenerational)
Led by Riki, Ott, Ph.D, (see bio below), this program will occur over two days and is open to youth and the adults who support them.
Added Bonus: You will walk away with a pocket version of the U.S. Constitution and the tools to use it!

Part One: April 1, 4-8 PM
Part Two: April 2, 12-4 PM
Explores how to: (1) Move ideas into action; (2) Understand wealth and what's good for our economy; (3) Repair a democracy; and (4) Use your rights to defend the climate and the youngest generation.
Empowers: Youth by nurturing self-efficacy and teaching skills and strategies to take control of their destiny.
Engages: Youth as change agents to define their roles as global citizens during a critical time in human history
Instructor Riki Ott, Ph. D, is a community activist, author, marine toxicologist, and former commercial salmon fisherman.
She experienced firsthand the devastating effects of the Exxon Valdez oil spill - and chose to do something about it. She co-founded Ultimate Civics,[ http://ultimatecivics.org/ ] a project of Earth Island Institute, and loves to share her knowledge and campaign-building skills with people of all ages to help move dialogue into action through value-based community organizing. Ott was nominated for Huffington Post's 2010 Game Changer Award for her work in the Gulf coast states, empowering local residents to take action after BP's disaster. She is featured in award-winning documentary films, including Black Wave, The Big Fix, and Dirty Energy.
