Why won't Senator McCarthy's lunatic prejudice just die? Is it that effective to attack ideas?
It is up to us to unite and rise up in the pursuit of truth. This is the only way we can combat the present culture we are living in; which has been created out of ignorance, apathy, lies, and deception.
What has been termed "kindergarten traffic management" [this group move 2 blocks forward and stop......now children. this group move 2 blocks forward and stop] could provide, if abandoned, a 10 to 20% reduction in oil usage in a matter of months.......the largest and quickest reduction possible.

One of the best, if not the best analysis of George W. Bush, the man and they myth, that I have yet to read. Long but well worth it. Valenzuela has Bush pegged
I have just one question about your parties program: how do the Greens plan to combat global capitalism?
Yes they have many great positions on issues not addressed by the main stream, but how do they prevent outsourcing of jobs? falling wages? lost pensions and insurance?
If your answer is that they will fix the above problems within the framework of capitalism, I would like to make a wager to see how fast international investment leaves this country- and the economy crashes. More likely however, the Greens will do what the did in Germany when they gained power: become a pathetic reform party much like the Democrats, throwing an occasional alternative bone to its constituents do retain a fraction of credibility. Lets avoid that trap eh?
If a political party is not staunchly anti-capitalism, it is not even addressing the issue.
Only YOU can prevent clearcuts!
How do we the news and views from here to a wider audience?
Revolutionary rights. when constitutional rights are either absent or fail.
Freedom is on the march...across the Rubicon, over the hills, and out of sight.

While controversy over twelve editorial cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad continues to rage in Europe and the Islamic world, Cartoongate is beginning to gain traction in the United States--for all the wrong reasons, a defense of free expression not among them.

Days before Morales was inaugurated Jan. 22, Chavez and other regional leaders met in Brasilia to announce ambitious plans for new gas and oil pipelines spanning the continent, linking national markets across vast areas of rainforest and towering mountains.

Cindy Sheehan is back in Washington, D.C. She appeared at a Forum, on Jan. 30, 2006, proposing the impeachment of both President George W. Bush and his vice-president-in-mayhem, Dick Cheney. Sheehan believes Bush's election in 2000, by the Supreme Court was illegitimate and that his abrogating to himself Congress's war making powers to invade Iraq was unconstitutional. Congress won't do anything, Sheehan said, "unless we make them" do it.
The cowardly and calculating decision by 19 Democrats who voted to block a filibuster against the Alito Supreme Court appointment (and by Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, who didn't vote) was a betrayal of liberal principles that should be rewarded by primary challenges for all those facing election in '06.
Some questions to the bases.
Gandhi is often ranked, directly or subtly, alongside Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King, Jr. as one of the greatest peacemakers - indeed, one of the greatest human beings - of all time. The mythology that surrounds him - which he built, leaving his followers, admirers and hagiographers to reinforce and embellish - has almost completely smothered the many unflattering facts about him.
Any intelligent, informed person will have realized by now that the sabre-rattling warmongers in Washington DC and 10 Downing Street are planning a military attack against Iran in the near future.
The following is a statement from the Seattle Anti-Imperialist Committee on "World Can't Wait" (WCW), the organizers of tomorrow's "Bush Step Down" protests.
As the 911 truth movement picks up steam, the scum who pulled it off are fighting back bigtime with film propaganda worthy of Josef Goebbels
A retrospective on terrorism in the U.S. and its deeper function and meaning
The tried and true methods of speeches and protests still work today, but with limited success. For example, a politician sees a motivating speech and on most occasions, nods his head and nothing is resolved. If you want to resolve important issues in our communities, you got to think like a bureaucrat.
And a question must be addressed; what new forms political expressions are more effective as catalysts for change?
Police did NOT follow all policies and procedures in Foaud Kaady's case.
Guess who's behind the "Peak Oil" idea? Read this piece for the real deal behind the enormously popular end-of-oil theory.

Smoke and mirrors and US government terrorizing you. This audio illustrates the system problem that historically includes the popular media and the Democratic and Republican parties
the journey home
Political posturing, tactics, and considerations about the public reaction to their actions are out of line. Democrats, and principled Republicans in the Senate need to oppose Alito's nomination to the high court as a matter of simple survival of constitutional government. Simply put, Alito thinks Congress is a vestigial irrelevance.
But post-Peak is a time that Lundberg sees as an opportunity for a fresh start. Those who survive, whether or not it's because they're the fittest, will have learned their lesson: Live In Harmony With Mother Nature Or Else. Now is the time to organize the type of community you want to live in.

A few thoughts on "Anna's" posts.
Again, we have the cops called out of concern for the welfare of a suicidal person, and the cops can find no better form of first aid than administering 50K volts of "less lethal force," and again the coroner can find no fault with using the taser. Maybe the coroners need to all be dosed with a little bit of tasering, and see if the tune changes.
At this point we as Americans should Impeach the Cabal simply to make an example of them. We as Americans will not stand for this type of Monarchical behavior and anyone who tries it will be called out and sent packing.
They work for us. They've done plenty wrong, and they tell us if we call them out on it we're not up to snuff on our "patriotism" - and they are doing our best interest. It's in their doctrine. I'm FAR more afraid of them, (and that's what they want) then I am of "muslim anthrax"...
dry drunks are known to make bad decisions aren't they? fuego arbusto.
if we are going to be bound to the "system" we need to have sensitive control of the system, and a positive interface with it. And that needs to be implemented before the rich and elite get too far in. Cause we don't want to have to tear it down just to get some semblance of self determination back from the monster.
About redeeming the reputation of a flawed civil servant in which the O's high profile conservative advocate exercises his muscle to mend a cracked pot. Why it should be tossed into the dustbin.

A new local income tax for schools is plain nonsense and will do nothing to solve the education problem.
The Defying of Logic About 9/11
Well, it has been a busy news cycle this week, with so many issues taking center stage momentarilly, then moving on. Sometimes, the issues are so large, and so many things rise up to divert our attention, and we wonder-did we do any good today? Well, today, dear readers we did do some good:
On the Executive Branch
What's wrong with this picture? Here's our president, who began an unprovoked war of aggression that has killed as many as 250,000 civilians, telling Hamas to renounce violence.
Let's see if Bush lives up to his (empty)promise "to do
everything I can do to help and protect the American people."
By opposing taxes on unearned increases in land values, property owners block the financing of infrastructure that would increase their wealth and income.
The vast majority of Americans don't care about politics. And most of the rest don't feel like they can do anything about it.
The senseless slaughter of Elk to enable the meat murdering cattle farmers to have unfettered access to our coastal forests and fields must be stopped, and here is how to do it:
Some thoughts re: today's media blitz on local epidemic of police-involved shootings.
A story about a forbidden and secretive relationship between two cowboys and their lives over the years.
The principal freedom Iraq and the rest of the world will intentionally be denied.
The "religious" right REALLY wants Judge Sam Alito on the Supreme Court. But why? How might Judge Sam help advance their agenda? And do you know what Jesus of Nazareth actually SAID about two of the "religious" right's hot-button issues?

Poor Sheriff Roberts
Well, poor Clackamas County Sheriff Roberts seems to be having a really bad spell, what with all of his officers out on paid administrative leave, while his cronies "investigate" all the murders by cop that have been taking place on his watch.
It would appear, from reading the reports of the Clackamas County Shooting Review Board, that these stalwart self investigators were only to determine whether any department policies were violated, when Deputy Willard, and Officer Bergin (Sandy P.D.) chose to terminate the life of Fouad Kaady, after first tasering him until their high tech toys would fire no more.
The constitution is being stripped, and our government continually lies. What else is new?
"The government engaged in illegal electronic surveillance of thousands of U.S. persons, including Yassin Aref, then instigated a sting operation to attempt to entrap Mr. Aref into supporting a nonexistent terrorist plot, then dared to claim that the illegal NSA operation was justified because it was the only way to catch Mr. Aref," Kindlon's motion said.
