Attacking Iran Will Put the US at Risk as Never Before
It may sound tough to call for attacking Iran's nuke facilities, but in doing so, the U.S. would open itself up to attack from Iran, and they don't have to fight back by sending bombers over here. They can use other delivery systems.

There is a very good conversation happening on the Rogue IMC website this morning. Good questions are being asked. How can we create Cascadia to serve the people as well as the bio-region. How can we begin to organize? Are other parts of the US beginning the process of sucession? How do we start?

National Guard in midnight mass evictions/detentions of Katrina survivors in NO hotels
I spoke with one of these Louisiana National Guard troops (who has requested anonymity until he separates from service) on the phone two nights ago, and I've been seething ever since.

The National Guard is now being empolyed to assist the extremely sketchy New Orleans Police with these hotel evictions; and some of the troops don't like it a bit.

Said this distressed young man on the telephone, "This is f***ing unbelievable. We were given an operations order to herd our fellow New Orleanians onto buses like cattle or convicts in the middle of the night. They weren't even allowed to pcik up their belongings. We [the National Guard] were responsible to inventory their stuff and bag it up."

There is a really big New Orleans round-up scheduled, he advised me, on Monday night, February 13th.

Happy Valentine's Day.

What Bush really believes in -
In this unprecedented period of transition, "those in power will no longer be trying to preserve the existing system (doomed as it is to self-destruction); rather, they will try to ensure that the transition leads to the construction of a new system that will replicate the worst features of the existing one - its hierarchy, privilege and inequalities. They may not yet be using language that reflects the demise of existing structures, but they are implementing a strategy based on such assumptions. Of course, their camp is not united, as is demonstrated by the conflict between the so-called centre-right 'traditionalists' and the ultra-right, militarist hawks. But they are working hard to build backing for changes that will not be changes, a new system as bad as - or worse than - the present one. , , , History is on no one's side. Each of us can affect the future, but we do not and cannot know how others will act to affect it, too."

Disenfranchising Africans in AmeriKKKa
...One of the topics we mentioned was a pending bill in the Pennsylvania legislature that will prevent convicted felons from voting in any election. When the topic was mentioned and I got a chance to speak ... I immediately pointed out the political implications of the bill; that it was a vicious attempt to disenfranchise mostly black and brown people. In my opinion such a move would reduce them to passive, impotent non-entities in the political process. Whites have a long history of attempting to keep black people out of the system but the fascists in the Republican Party are doing everything within their power to create a one party monopoly in AmeriKKKa.

Islam bashing part of racist war for empire
According to the big-business media, "free speech" is the core issue. In reality, this is a battle between oppressor and oppressed nations. With the exception of Bosnia, in the Balkans, all the nations where the predominant religion is Muslim are in Africa and Asia and are formerly colonized by oppressor nations. These oppressed countries are all still under the economic domination ...or, like Iran, are threatened with war. Iraq and Afghan istan are occupied by U.S.-led forces....For example, drawing an equal sign between Islam-bashing and anti-Judaism leaves out the role of Israel as an imperialist cat's paw. ...

And if a comparison were to be made between the guerilla warfare method pursued by Hizbullah and the maxims determined by Mao Tse Tung, they`d turn out quite similar....Hizbullah looks after the citizens` living, residential, and medical interests ...

O Believers! Back in the late 19th century, the political cartoonist, Thomas Nast, in NYC's "Harper's Weekly," viciously attacked Catholics, the Irish and the Vatican. He crossed the line with those caricatures. The same can be said about the Danish authors of the 12 cartoons vilifying the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the revered founder of Islam. The demonizing was, in effect, an attack on all of the Muslim faithful. The parties responsible should offer an apology.
