The Democratic voters of Connecticut have the right idea: If Democrats won't oppose the war or won't stand on principle, throw the bastards out.

What do Martha Stewart and enemy combatant Ali Saleh Kahlah Al-Marri have in common? They were both indicted, under Title 18, United States Code, Section 1001, for lying to federal government agents. Ms. Stewart now stands convicted of intentionally misleading SEC and FBI officials who questioned her about insider trading. Mr. Al-Marri was one of several hundred immigrants who voluntarily submitted to FBI interviews in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks. He was later charged with lying, during his interview, about the timing of a previous trip to the United States. Here are two criminal defendants from widely divergent backgrounds. Yet both were ensnared by Section 1001, a perennial favorite of federal prosecutors.
For more than 200 years, France has been seen as the country in which class contradictions are most openly fought out and which provided the social impulse for events that have had European-wide repercussions. This applied to the revolutionary period from 1789 to 1815, and then again in 1831, 1848, 1871, and finally in 1968, when the May-June revolt, which began in Paris, spread like wildfire across Europe.
The conflicts surrounding the so-called "First Job Contract" (Contrat premičre embauche—CPE), which shook France during the past two months, are of such a character and have significance far beyond French borders. They show in exemplary fashion the real social and political condition of Europe. Even if, based on historical tradition, the French population is rather more inclined to take to the streets in their millions than, for example, the Germans, the same explosive tensions and political conflicts are also at work here and in the rest of Europe.

Guess who's coming to dinner? The President of the United States. But for the U.S. media, this peculiar party crashing by President Bush was a Big Moment, not an embarrassment.
It has come to my attention that PGE is making automated phone calls, after hours, to intimidate and harass people in arrears to their life dependent power. We need it to cook, for communication, and refrigeration. These things are crucial for some of us to survive.

"THE FBI HAS NO HARD EVIDENCE CONNECTING BIN LADEN TO 9/11." - (FBI's Rex Tomb, answering why the FBI website wanted poster does not accuse Bin Laden for 9/11)
Look beyond the monotonously repeated phrase that our troops are fighting, killing and dying in Iraq to "DEFEND OUR FREEDOMS!" (by fighting Terrorists THERE, so we won't have to fight them HERE in America!) NOT true!
The FBI paid me to fly to the Washington D.C. area to lecture law enforcement executives and managers from around the world about animal rights philosophy.

Portland's contribution to the World Naked Bike Ride 2006 was a welcome addition to the Rose Festival.
Ralph Nader spoke at a campaign rally, in Baltimore, MD, on behalf of Kevin Zeese, who's running as an Independent for a U.S. Senate seat. Nader called his former press secretary, "a great candidate." An activist's activist, Nader said a vast majority of Americans need a dose of "moral courage." They have allowed "a few," to rule over the many. "Democracy," Nader said, "isn't a slogan. People need to get motivated, show up and get organized."
Could it be the U.S. didn't want him to talk about what he knew about the U.S. in Iraq and about the U.S. role in creating him.

We have to rape, torture, and slaughter innocent men, women, and children there so we don't have to rape, torture, and slaughter them here.
For the first time in over 25 years the U.S. government has agreed to negotiate directly with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The talks would also include Britain, France, and Germany and would focus on Iran's purported nuclear weapons program; the U.S. will participate only if Iran first halts its uranium enrichment program.
Washington has just moved a step closer to war with Iran — but it still looks doubtful.
For many years prior to the Bush era US foreign policy drifted toward a debacle in the Middle East. Under the present administration the drift became a rush toward unparalleled catastrophe. Can we avert an explosion that will shake the world? The coming days will demand all of our strength, courage, and commitment to peace. Even so, we will probably fail without a flowering of openness and self-criticism unprecedented in American life.

I have to wonder why arson charges have such different bail schedules. Granted there's the differences in the green scare with California, Oregon and Washington state bail schedules, but sure seems politically motivated when mainstream media uses key words by government prosecutors in their reporting. USDA McGregor Scott, shame on you.

This is simply me downloading from my brain the stories that I have heard on the news today, or rather, that have been constantly beat into my head by corporate media's breathless, convulsive coverage of this event. It is as if we won the war. Read the story so far, and see if I'm the only one who finds the story, as presented, ridiculous and full of holes. Remember, I'm not making it up. This is what I was told...
This president's attitude towards global warming is about the same as his attitude was towards the advance of Hurricane Katrina towards the Louisiana coast. And we saw what that accomplished.

Fouad Kaady was murdered nine months ago, and his killers are still at large, and being paid by the citizens of Clackamas County. I think that they are hoping that this whole thing will just go away. PLEASE DON'T LET HIM DIE UNAVENGED!
I am serving a federal parole in the District of Oregon and more specifically Portland, Oregon. I was doing great on parole after serving nearly twenty-two (22) years in federal prison as a POW in the war on drugs. Even my parole officer deceived me into beleiving that I was doing great until she, another paorle officer and a civilian female who I had mistakenly allowed to reside with me decided to get rid of me so the female they had befriended could have my rental house. Here is the law suit that I have had to file against them to restore myself to whole. I have them dead to rights in all of their lies and typically of the federal government they would rather waste hardearned taxpayer revenue to fight me all the way than be accountable and admit their malfeasance as all of the rest of us would have to do....
Keep a list of the known Oregon collaborators.
"Never Give up, Never Surrender"
There is no "war on terror." The invasion and occupation of Iraq are not part of a "war on terror." Neither are the current threats and war preparations against Iran. The "war on terror" doesn't exist—no matter how many times the Bush administration cites it to justify its aggressions, no matter how often Republicans and Democrats debate how to best carry it out, and no matter how frequently it's referenced in the U.S. bourgeois media.

2005 Real ID Act creates a National ID that functions as an internal passport. Internal passports are a signiture of dictatorship.

Kevin Zeese, an independent candidate for U.S. Senate in Maryland, accused both parties, Democrats and Republicans, of "selling the country to the highest bidder." He spoke at a Forum, in Baltimore, MD, on June 4, 2006. Zeese emphasized the importance of breaking the straightjacket the two parties have on the voters in order to give them a real choice. Zeese also underscored that our fragile environment is headed for a global disaster, unless serious policy changes are made within the next five to ten years.
The Oregonian endorsed Bernie Guisto for Sheriff. Now they are attacking him for mis management.
Activism*Human Rights*Global Unity
Originally intending to do a write up commemorating the 400 injured and hundreds jailed and killed by the People's Liberation Army on June 4, 1989, I had the good fortune to interview a group of students from China. To my dismay, their views ranged from complete apathy to nationalistic rationalizations of the regime's actions (it was a long time ago/it was very complicated/those people weren't working). That view sharply contrasts with that of Americans towards, say, Kent State, where four antiwar protesters were shot by National Guardsment.
In a personal revelation today, I realized it is not enough to just "tolerate" our differences. Although many activist organizations proclaim "tolerance" as their motto, "tolerance" is really not enough to secure peace. "Respect" is one step beyond "tolerance," and true peace on earth, and in our communities, requires respect. Or as Einstein said, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
