Paying Attention
In these times of war it appears that the pervasive "news" sources stand strong as purveyors of established misinformation and a sustained naive careerism. What we get day in and day out from these national newspapers and conglomerate productions, almost all of them cartel rags and infotainment shows, is the appearance that our nation is not being usurped.

Almost all of Iraq sold to foreigners
"Iraq is to become a free-market economic laboratory, with levels of foreign ownership and privatization never before seen in the Arab world, its U.S.-appointed government announced Sunday.

The entire Iraqi economy, almost totally state-owned under deposed dictator Saddam Hussein, will be privatized and opened to unlimited foreign investment — with the notable exception of its oil industry, which will remain a state monopoly and part of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. At least 192 state companies will be sold to foreigners."

National Democratic Front of South Korea Condemns Plot to use Koreans to Kill Arabs!!!
The US pressed by the ever-increasing anti-US resistance of the Iraqi people recently demanded south Korea to dispatch combatant troops to Iraq.

The Iraqi war provoked by the US was an utterly unjust aggressive war motivated by the wicked purpose to overthrow the legitimate government of Hussein and dominate the Middle East region abundant with petrol.

The aggressive war against Iraq unilaterally ignited by the atrocious and brazen-faced US imperialists in disregard to the international law and institutions, plainly exposed the highhanded nature of the US imperialism obsessed with the ambition for world hegemony and aroused strong protest and condemnation even in the US as well as in the entire world.

Colin Powell calls US judeao-christian
U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell called the United States a Judeo-Christian country but quickly amended that to "a country of many faiths".

The first amendment to the U.S. constitution prohibits the establishment of any state religion -- a provision usually interpreted as requiring strict separation of church and state, though Christian activists dispute that.

Powell made the remark in an interview on Monday with the Charlie Rose Show on public television while talking about Washington's vision of what kind of government Iraq should have.

He said he expected it to be "an Islamic country by faith, just as we are a Judeo-Christian..."

What if we doubled the minimum wage?
Trillions of dollars flow through large American corporations, and executives are making remarkable amounts of money. Executive pay has risen by a factor of 10 in the last 20 years and shows no signs of slowing down [ref, ref, ref]. Meanwhile, the wages of rank and file employees are stagnant. Given all the money available, why is it that companies like Wal-Mart, Home Depot and McDonald's pay their employees so little and give them so few benefits?

Utter Lies First, Correct Later: Diplomacy, Neocon-Style
It's hard to believe that it was just a slip of the tongue rather than a calculated lie when US Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz sullied the memory of those who died on Sept. 11 by exploiting their deaths for propaganda purposes. The brainwashing of Americans, two-thirds of whom believe that Saddam Hussein was behind the attacks, is too effective a political ploy for the Bush regime to suddenly let the truth get in the way.
