Frustrated by continual calls for an "independent investigation' and endless talk of "unanswered questions" around 9/11, I think it high time to see the NAMES of the people connected to the planning ,and those benefiting, from the monumental crime of the 9/11 attacks. The list is by no means exhaustive, and is pulled from the outstanding groundbreaking research of "Ewing2001".

This article is inspired by the recent news of a new "nonlethal" laser ray weapon that the u.s. has developed, allegedly to be used on all who violently oppose u.s./nato imperialism-type aggressions. Shared here is from an informal confrontive (non-pacifist) ""cruciaL aRts"" perspective; controversial to traditonal politics for sure, yet offering input to thinking through the continuing intensity.

The Peoples’ Counter State of the Union Message
Col. Ann Wright at the U.S. Capitol George W. Bush, the Liar-in-Chief, did his thing on Tuesday night, Jan. 23, 2007. He delivered another one of his so-called "State of the Union" messages to the Congress, on Capitol Hill. Outside the building, however, by the reflective pool, activists, like: Col. Ann Wright, Medea Benjamin, Jeffrey Milliard and Travis Morales, offered a true representation of the state of our nation. They demanded an end to the Iraqi War and bringing our troops home.

Why capitalists support the war
To put it simply, they want to maximize their profits at the expense of the vast majority. This requires access to raw materials, markets, and cheap labor, not to mention juicy government contracts with built-in profits. But don't take our word for it. Here's what the representatives and defenders of U.S. capitalism have had to say about it over the years:

"War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses...

"It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle-man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism."

- USMC General Smedley Butler, 1933

Portland woke up on Tuesday to everything covered in white, and promptly went about falling apart. Trimet made the amazing decision early in the morning to not chain up the busses, and by 8:00 nobody could accuse them of overreacting to inclement weather. According to Oregon Public Broadcasting's "Oregon Considered," Portland Public School District-along with most of the surrounding districts-announced first that they were going to remain open, and then decided to close. One of the main problems with how the schools went about this decision was actually waiting until many children were already at school, and then basically telling them to go home for the day.

How Capitalism Failed African Americans
The Second American Revolution [The U.S. Civil War] was a tremendous step forward, but it never realized its promise to Black Americans. The real winners in the Civil War were the Northern capitalists who opened up new markets and obtained a huge new supply of dirt-cheap labor. Nearly a century and a half after the abolition of slavery in the U.S.A., we are very far from achieving genuine equality for all, regardless of race, color or sex. Despite a number of advances achieved through the struggles of black people in the 1960s, the position of black Americans remains one of clear disadvantage. Michael Moore points out that in the U.S.A. today:

Why War?? Military Families Speak Out!
BY: LARA DELUZ 16.01.2007 18:38
SPIRIT WOMAN -- A SPIRITUAL PORTRAIT
With the right spiritual perspective we could transform our nation and world into a wonderful place, overnight. This piece suggests where our focus should be as Americans living in a global community. Instead, however, we are fixated on unprincipled wars, the destruction or misuse of resources, along with skewed economic and political systems that are all too often engineered to the sole benefit of an elite or ruling class. Realizing that no political system will work until people endeavor to work on themselves individually for the betterment of our globe spiritually, in my estimation, suggests the only sensible direction for all of us now.

Accordingly, Black Elk in 1887, a famous Medicine Man of the Oglala (Lakota) Sioux Nation, stated he joined the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show with the intent of better understanding Americans up close, especially those whites that dominated the wealth in the US. Given his deeply mindful assessment of our culture, his quote still resonates as truth more than 200 years later. Ponder Chief Black Elk's words that captured so well our fixation with materialism and the greed, hypocrisy and widespread inhuman treatment this led to of both America's own and others around the globe, both then and now.

After all the study groups and reports, an electoral repudiation, months of deliberation and hundreds of thousands dead, the Bush administration Iraq policy debate boils down to this: choosing between genocide against Sunni Arabs - a strategy known as the "80 percent solution" - or fomenting a second civil war, this one a Shia-on-Shia death match. Government Found Guilty of Martin Luther King Murder in Federal Court - 12/8/99
Undisclosed conspirators for the governments of the United States, the State of Tennessee, and the City of Memphis were found liable for the murder of Martin Luther King, Jr. on December 8, 1999, in a federal circuit court. The federal government never appealed the decision. The mainstream media in the U.S. never covered the assassination conspiracy verdict, even though the implications of the story were greater than Watergate. The family requested a subsequent independent investigation to be set up by President Bill Clinton (who has since established office in Harlem), but he refused the request.
