The so-called "Hydrogen Highway" must not be allowed to cross the Oregon Border.
In California, efforts are ongoing to try to power vehicles with Hydrogen or Hydrogen fuel cells. This is a very expensive, misguided effort. Oregon must reject this trajectory, and focus on battery electric vehicles instead.

Send Sen. Mikulski to Iraq, Not the MD National Guard!
Fallen Hero As Marylanders prepare to celebrate Easter, some of them, members of the state's National Guard, are receiving a notice from the Pentagon. It says that they will be deployed to Iraq. They are being called up to fulfill the insane "Surge" strategy of the Bush-Cheney Gang. Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD) has voted to fund the "Surge." She is complicit in that regime's wrongdoing. I say: Keep the MD National Guard home and send Sen. Mikulski to Iraq!

Rev. Heber Brown III On March 19, 2007, the Baltimore City Council unanimously approved a Resolution condemning the Iraqi War, the lies that got us into it, George W. Oregon Nature Conservancy Director in Bed with Oregon's Timber barons?
Take a read and tell us and him what you think of this.
Allyn Ford is sole owner of Roseburg Lumber which owns nearly 1 million acres of private land in Oregon and Northern California and is chairman of Umpqua Bank.
The members of the Oregon Nature Conservancy should ask some hard questions of their so called leader and maybe ask that he resign. He is either severely incapable of seeing through the timber industry lies or is perpetuating the same lies to all Oregon's Nature Conservancy members.
Russ Hoeflich has also made substantial donations (10,000 to 50,000 dollars) to the "World Forestry Center" alongside Weyerheauser and most of the timber companies in the western United States. See their annual reports. Maybe they should be called the World De-forestry Center?! Why would Hoeflich support such an organization?

By Ian Baldwin and Frank Bryan 02.04.2007 12:29
The Once and Future Republic of Vermont
In October 2005, about 300 Vermonters attended a statewide
convention on the question of secession. Six months later, the
annual Vermont Poll of the University of Vermont's Center for Rural
Studies found that about 8 percent of respondents replied "yes" to
peaceful secession, arguably making Vermont foremost among the many
states with secessionist movements (including Alaska, California,
Hawaii, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Texas).

We secessionists believe that the 350-year swing of history's
pendulum toward large, centralized imperial states is once again
reversing itself.

Why? First, the cost of oil and gas. According to urban planner
James Howard Kunstler, "Anything organized on a gigantic scale . . .
will probably falter in the energy-scarce future." Second, third-
wave technology is as inherently democratic and decentralist as
second-wave technology was authoritarian and centralist. Gov. Jim
Douglas wants Vermont to be the first "e-state," making broadband
Internet access available to every household and business in the
state by 2010. Vermont will soon be fully wired into the global
social commons.

Introducing Palestine, Peace Not Apartheid
I excitedly purchased the distinguished former American president Jimmy Carter's new book "Palestine, Peace Not Apartheid" and put it on my bookshelf to read the moment I got the chance. Alas, this book will now surely always sit there gathering dust and unread, because before I could get to it, I read the following account in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz about this book that greatly disturbed me. A new red herring has been cleverly introduced into the discourse space, albeit enlarging it somewhat, but not sufficiently for me to waste my time chasing down yet another distinguished red herring.

Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) voted against the Iraqi War. But, since then, she has acted like an agent of the Bush-Cheney Gang by consistently voting to fund it to the tune of $411.3 billion. Mikulski says she "cares about the troops," but Peace advocates in Maryland think that she has "lost her soul." They wonder when Mikulski is going to say: "Stop this war!" She has ignored the mandate of the Nov. 7, 2006 election. Iraq is now Sen. Mikulski's War!

Everyone argues the pros and cons of torture through the ticking bomb. Disarm the ticking bomb, and the liberal ideology of torture begins to unravel.
