you read the news: bank robbers attacked with tanks
About 60 supporters of former American Indian Movement warrior, John Graham, showed up at Vancouver's Supreme Court on the morning of May 17, 2007, to oppose the US government's attempt to extradite him on the charge of murdering fellow AIM member Anna Mae Pictou Aquash. Only some 50 supporters were able to actually sit in court because by the time they arrived it was full beyond seating capacity with other supporters as well as members of the corporate media.

Institutional prejudice against homeless needs to be addressed by empowering homeless to stand up against the system.
If those in the hospitality industry don't like you for whatever personal bias, they can simply put you on their Do Not Rent list and discriminate against you with impunity.
The lead article from the third issue of The Warrior Wind newsletter: "Almost a year and a half has passed since December 7, 2005, when the first arrests of FBI's "Operation Backfire" took place. Then as now, we recognized these arrests as not just an effort to stop "eco-sabotage," but as an attack on broader circles. [...] Last year saw arrests, informing and finally plea deals--some more principled than others--in these cases. We have also seen resistance and solidarity to varying degrees. It is time to take a look back, but also to think of the future."
Must read essay on why the US will be staying in Iraq indefinately. Oil and Empire.
we haven't dealt with our little secret weapon in Iraq
It seems as if the disaster of Iraq is to be followed by an even bigger disaster in Iran - or maybe Irun? Where is Irun or for that matter Iran? Does George Bush know? Does George Bush care?
If we are to restore our harmony with Nature and ourselves we will need to address issues that are profoundly private, too frequently neglected and often looked upon with shame

* From the publishers of El Libertario goes our reply to the habitual expressions that the coarse right or the easy-going left used to attribute us; the same left that, inside and outside of Venezuela allows that the mirage of the Chávez pseudo-revolution impressed them. We could and would like to say very much more about this subject, however currently here there is the essential and concise information about our point of view that, even when it was expressed several times it does not implies that it does not have to be repeated.
About 50 supporters of John Graham attended his extradition appeal hearing this morning, May 17, 2007, in Vancouver, Canada. The hearing continues today. On Tuesday, about 30 supporters of John Graham held a rally for him in Grandview Park in Vancouver.

Senate rejects Iraq Funding Cutoff
We can talk about the merits of Buffalo Field Campaign, of resistance in general, but if we are going to chastise people whose resistance we do not question for choosing not to suffer needlessly and passively, forgotten in jail, in the name of a caricature idea of civil disobedience, then we don't understand a thing.
The arch-bigot Falwell is dead

The world is a head shorter today, and we are all a lot better off for it.
"Do I support Bob [Robideau] in his efforts to get John [Graham] railroaded into prison?" Hell No! I'd be a goddamn hypocrite if I did. Because I know just about as much as Bob knows about Anna Mae's murder and that is not a goddamn thing. I know Bob is full of shit and that if the truth be known he did not even know her. He may have spoken a casual Hello or something like that, otherwise he did not know her.

John Graham, an Indigenous man from the Northwest Territories in Canada, is being accused by the U.S. authorities of participating in the murder of Indigenous woman, Anna Mae Pictou-Aquash, another "Canadian". This happened more than 30 years ago. Both were members of the American Indian Movement [AIM]. Since when did the U.S. ever go after someone for killing an Indian? What's behind it? John Graham is currently awaiting an extradition hearing in Vancouver, scheduled for May 17th, 2007. He has been under house arrest there since his apprehension in December 2003.
On April 14th in Portland Oregon, at the doors of NAFTA-loving Democratic Senator Ron Wyden's office, as many as 300 trade unionists came out in a spirited rally representing occupations that ranged from nurses to longshoremen. They were there to protest mass layoffs at a Daimler-Chrysler owned plant that manufactures Freightliner trucks. They were also demanding that Senator Wyden vote against the renewal of Fast Track which eliminates Congressional review, mark-up and oversight of trade agreements, while giving large corporations special access to trade negotiators. These trade unionists saw a direct connection between the mass layoffs and the free trade policies Fast Track has helped to mold.
The "SWARM on Congress" campaign got off to a rousing start on May 14, 2007, in the nation's capital. Cindy Sheehan spoke to the crowd at Lafayette Park; along with Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) and activists Kevin Zeese, David Swanson, Debra Sweet, Ann Wright, the Rev. Lennox Yearwood, and others. After parading to Capitol Hill, 33 of the estimated 250 antiwar activists were arrested there for refusing a police order to disperse.
To begin with one must remember that all the statistics kept on our economy are bogus. They are contrived in such a manner, compiled explicitly for casual regurgitation, so as to never display anything less than full employment, wage growth and a serendipitous lack of inflation.
With that as a foundation, what's actually occurring in this economy is the globalization of assets and wealth. That is to say, because the value of American labor is falling so precipitously, (due to the utilization of cheap foreign labor around the world), the value of the assets held by them is falling in direct correlation with their declining wages. It must.
While we hear tell of improvements in breast cancer treatments, it seem the V.A. health care system has not caught up with the latest teast and treatments, or are just unwilling to pay for state of the art tests and treatments. The result is that the V.A. may be sending women with Breast Cancer to an early grave.

If it was the intention of Blair's venal Nu Labor administration in London to make a mockery of the Scottish electoral process they certainly succeeded.
The time and effort required for a new-born child is immense and truly only known by moms. Constant care and nurturing of a completely helpless baby is no easy task and one that is mostly forgotten and unknown, except on this one day a year when we give thanks to our moms.
A mother's care is a special gift that is taken for granted most of the time. And, sadly, that is the way man is concerning Mother Earth. We have been taking and taking from her with barely any regard.
The mass public assault on the May 1st rally and a public raid on migrants at a shopping mall in Chicago shortly before May 1st mark a brutal and highly public escalation in the ruling class's war on migrants. Increased resistance like the upcoming May 17th march to MacArthur Park is exactly what the situation calls for.
This letter was sent to the Newport, Oregon Chamber of Commerce and to the Newport News-Times editor. It is in response to an incident at the May 5, 2007 annual Loyalty Day parade.

This is a heartfelt plea by one of the non-cooperating eco-defendant's mothers, one that is appropriately published as we approach this year's celebration of Mother's Day.
The police involved in the arrests of two Buffalo Field Campaign volunteers may never have their actual actions brought to light, at least as far as the general public is concerned. Cameras and film were confiscated and though the cameras will come back soon, and the film later, because of how media works in relation to the public mind, it will no longer be a pertinent issue, as thousands or perhaps more will tune in to new, more novel topics, having made their minds up already.
There are negative effects of men fathering babies past the age of 32. Their offspring are at increasing risk of genetic disorders due to mutations in the DNA of sperm making cells that increase with the age of the father. This paper postulates that the epidemic of de novo autism we are experiencing or the upswing in the number of children with neurocognitive developmental disorders is due to the increased average paternal age. One of the true horrors of the Iraqi War is the death toll of the civilian population caught up in that conflict. In Oct., 2006, "The Lancet," a prestigious British Medical Journal, published a study entitled: "The Human Cost of the War in Iraq." One of its co-authors was Dr. Gilbert Burnham of the Johns Hopkins U. Its stunning conclusion: 659,965 Iraqis have died in the war as of July, 2006! On May 8, 2007, Dr. Burnham discussed that report.
It would appear that Tom Potter is attempting to do the right thing in regard to the cop that killed a guy for parking in front of his sister's home last year. While he could not control the DA or the "grand" jury, he nonetheless is asking for the termination of Lt. Jeffrey Kaer, for "using poor judgement," in the shooting.

Stop Totalitarian Oppressive Police.
A wake up call for the rank and file.
JFK, himself of one of the bloodline families, clearly understood that there was a shadow government run by the bankers that was attempting to take over the United States, and he clearly saw that the CIA was under their control and out of control. They killed him before he was able to attack their roots of power, the private Federal Reserve and the CIA.
It is a well-documented phenomenon that you can break a person or an animal's spirit and eventually the person or animal will begin to oppress itself in hopelessness. This is such a well-recognized condition that it has a name: Internalized Oppression. It occurs all over at circuses, in concentration camps, in jails, at welfare offices, in the homes of battered women...I have begun shamelessly stating "I refuse to feel guilty for being happy."
The official position of the Bush Regime today is exactly the same as that of Hitler's regime when it suspended habeas corpus on February 28, 1933: Any individual, citizen or non-citizen, can be deprived of the law's protection at the whim of the Executive, and imprisoned indefinitely without legal recourse.
Privatization of iraqi Oil -- Kucinich nails it in L.A. while Google News search nets exactly one news sources reporting it! Is it generally known that the Supplemental Authorization provides concrete proof that U.S. troops are not dying for oil for the U.S. but for the profits of global oil companies? NO! Has even Indymedia carried this news (which has been systematically blacked out of corporate news)? NO - except for a repost from the World Socialist Web Site. Does anybody care? You tell me.
