A pamphlet passed out before and during a speech John Zerzan gave earlier this year at a primitivist gathering in Toledo, Ohio, criticizing his views and the views of others like him.

They played their hearts out and it showed as this team made up of Kurds, Shiite, Sunni and Turkman held it together and handily beat a tough Saudi squad 1-0 to win Asia's premiere soccer tournament for the first time in their footballing history. no thanks to Goerge. Hopefully he won't try to take credit for this one. A few years ago there was a media squabble between the Iraqi soccer players and the white house over politicizing their successes at the time.
A little background. I have told the story of the company I keep, and the unusual luminous craft that can be seen over the sky in my hometown. The Pentagon and the CIA know what I am taling about, because they don't need to send in some mole to infiltrate some organization since I am out in the open every night, and thus I am easy to spy on. For the public record I wanted to send this message in their general direction and post it somewhere other than my own website at the same time. Anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about because of all that ruthless oppression that keeps going on can visit my site and follow links.
Odds are that Operation Noble Resolve will not be another 9/11. Perhaps merely one in six. DHS agenda is worldwide radiation inspections of cargo containers bound for US ports. A nuclear explosion in the port of Portland would guarantee funding for DHS.
Happy birthday, Situationist International!
The 7th day of waiting
In this summer of angst and grim foreboding about what further assaults against common sense and common decency the Bush Administration might inflict upon the people of the world, how many times during the day do those of us -- still possessed of mind, heart and conscience -- take pause, hoping we've seen the worst of it, then, fearing we haven't yet, attempt to push down the dread rising within us, so that we might simply make it through the day and be able to rest at night? Accordingly, those who have been paying attention are aware that the outward mechanisms of martial law are in place. We shudder knowing that Bush has issued an executive decree that grants him dictatorial power in the event of some nebulously defined national emergency. In addition, the knowledge nettles us that a vast network of internment camps bristle across the length of the U.S., standing at wait for those who might raise objections to the fascistic fury unloosed by the American empire's version of the Reichstag fire.
Michael Moore's latest film, SiCKO, is from beginning to end an all-out assault on the for-profit U.S. health care system. Most of us have heard of the 47 million Americans, including 10 million children, without health insurance, a number that has been steadily rising ovCost of US Healthcareer the last few years.
But Moore clearly states in the opening minutes of the film that SiCKO isn't about them. The focus of the movie is on the nearly 250 million Americans who are insured. He focuses on how the health industry in the U.S. is set up not to provide, but rather to deny care. As a former "denial management specialist" says in the film, "It's not unintentional. It's not a mistake. It's not an oversight. You're not slipping through the cracks. Somebody made that crack and swept you towards it, and the intent is to maximize profit."

A summary of an article written by Bill Sizemore relating additional details gained through use of the Freedom of Information Act about the murder committed by an off duty Blackwater employee on Christmas Eve in Baghdad's Green Zone
Marx's analysis of capitalism, unlike bourgeois accounts, is conducted from a historical perspective. In other words, Marx was keenly aware that during the march of history, one economic system, because of internal, irreconcilable contradictions, has been replaced by another until it too falls victim to similar contradictions. Of course, when one is born and matures within a single economy and lacks knowledge of any other system, one tends to take one's own for granted, believing that it will persevere forever. A historical perspective has the advantage of forcing us to rise above the provincial perspective that assumes economic systems are eternal. We survey from above the vast array of systems that have played their fleeting role on history's stage. For this reason, Marx's analysis of capitalism is specifically written with the purpose of unveiling its inner contradictions so that the possibility of its demise stands boldly in relief. This runs directly opposed to bourgeois portrayals of capitalism as "natural" and hence as unalterable as the law of gravity itself.

Robert Fisk is one of the greatest reporters of all time. He has written some of the most insightful, biting criticisms about U.S./Israeli/British foreign policy and provided readers, in vivid detail, a vision of of the plight of people living in war torn areas of the Middle East. I have nothing but sincere gratitude to him for putting his life on the line to give us these excellent stories. But, having said this, I think he is doing a disservice to his readers by claiming his contempt for the Internet and also by his refusal to look critically into the events of 9/11.

But take my word for it, if you want to see a change, GIVE UP ON CONGRESS doing the right thing. As it has been said, Democrats don't want to wrench excessive, ubiquitous, executive power away from the Republicans - they simply want it for themselves in just under two years.
This is information that may well say the life of you and your in the coming days, weeks or months.
We American must begin to realize that America's twin problems - the economic insecurity of our endangered middle class and the demise of our representative democracy are two problems that are as intertwined as the circulatory system of Siamese twins. More Americans must realize that Big Business/Corporations/Multi National Mega Corporations influence politics for their own benefit - and far more effectively than the average American voter could ever hope. When huge campaign chests are necessary for any national campaign, our politicians - almost of necessity must compromise their independence. In my opinion just about every politician in DC should recuse themselves. Our government has come to serve the interests of international corporations - often to the tune of billions for Corporate Welfare passed out by way of no-bid contracts - and our politicians are certainly not serving America's exclusive national interests (anyone remember the Dubai deal?). Our politicians have privatized many critical services such as emergency services, our postal system, and our prison system; even our intelligence agencies are hiring independent contractors. Our politicians have all but eliminated any system of social safety nets, at the same time our Representatives spend increasing amounts of our tax money for corporate welfare: Agri-business subsidies increasingly put the small American farmer out of business. The pharmaceutical industry accepts our tax-money to fund research - then turns around and gouges the American public and sells the same drugs more cheaply to foreign countries.
I know that certain topics generate more "whining" slurs directed towards me than others. When I speak about poverty issues or sexism, I get markedly more accusations of "whining" than when I complain about the Iraq War or the environment's destruction. Although in the 1970's, when I complained about environmental issues, I was labeled a "whiner." Even Al Gore was labeled a "whiner" in the past over his environmental books and stance, yet now he is deemed a near hero for the same thing termed "whining" in the past. Thus "whining" has some political context to it. Different things are perceived as "whines" in different eras. Since certain topics are perceived as "whining" topics, due, it seems, to the status quo, it makes sense that "whining" has political implications.
I was watching AMC last night and was inundated by a commercial for BigPharma's latest drug to treat Restless Leg Syndrome: Mirapex. I usually pay little attention to these commercials, but this one made my ears prick up when they listed the possible side effects.
i know this isn't quite proper, usually we wait until immediately after an action to go on the defensive about our blunt use of language, but I stayed up all night responding to a friend's criticism, and I thought it was a good essay so maybe others should read what I wrote and tell me their feelings on it. Challenge it and debunk if you see fit.

Day 1 at Blumenauer's office
As people know, who have regularly read my on-line posts & articles, I keep yelling "Impeach For Peace!" "Impeach to preserve your democracy," "Impeach- and do it now!"
I don't believe that impeachment is an elective option at this point. Impeachment is a necessity to secure the peace, and to bring inside traitors to justice. Most importantly, impeachment is necessary to revive our comatose American democracy.
Every activist for 9/11 truth,

Oh, geeez, here we go again!
Get ready America, hold on to that safety bar and strap yourself in really tight because our intelligence agencies have come up with a new scary ride that they want to take us on -- and, it is a zinger too. Just try not to throw up that hot dog as you go through the loopy logic and convoluted thinking on the new "al-Qaeda Terrordome" -- reconstituted, and coming to a city near you.
Stewart A. Alexander, a presidential hopeful with the Peace and Freedom Party, wants the face on six United States Federal Reserve Notes changed to represent the working class across America. Alexander's proposal would affect the $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 notes.

There is no worse way to be exposed to pesticide residues, and chlorine's dioxin from chlorine pesticides, than by Inhalation. Tobacco pesticides, and much more, are to be ignored by the FDA if Senate "health" committee succeeds. Act now.
What is fascism? The name originated in Italy. Were all the forms of counter-revolutionary dictatorship fascist or not (That is to say, prior to the advent of fascism in Italy)?
The former dictatorship in Spain of Primo de Rivera, 1923-30, is called a fascist dictatorship by the Comintern. Is this correct or not? We believe that it is incorrect.
The fascist movement in Italy was a spontaneous movement of large masses, with new leaders from the rank and file. It is a plebian movement in origin, directed and financed by big capitalist powers. It issued forth from the petty bourgeoisie, the slum proletariat, and even to a certain extent from the proletarian masses; Mussolini, a former socialist, is a "self-made" man arising from this movement.

> Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran.
> Bush has put in place all the necessary measures for dictatorship in the form of "executive orders" that are triggered whenever Bush declares a national emergency. Recent statements by Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff, former Republican senator Rick Santorum and others suggest that Americans might expect a series of staged, or false flag, "terrorist" events in the near future.
The 21st leaflet that the Seattle Anti-Imperialist Committee has produced in its short two years---all part of building the movement to confront and overthrow this bloody and oppressive imperialist system.
Several issues about private mercenaries have come to the forefront. However one important issue has "not" come to our attention. The issue that needs investigation is the "fact" that any private security employee could be taking secret orders (such as those of a subversive nature) from any special interest, political front or political power—including the taking of orders from other intelligence agencies or even mafia-like gangsters.
I will not refer to Bush's health and education, but to that of his neighbors. It was not an improvised declaration. The AP agency tells us what his opening words were: "Tenemos corazones grandes en este país" (We have big hearts in this country); he said this in Spanish in front of 250 representatives of private and religious groups, foundations and NGOs who had come to Washington with all expenses paid by his government...
While recent East Coast brick attacks have struck fear into the hearts of military recruiters, more thoroughly planned strikes can put recruiters out of business for weeks or months. The model I am going to use is ALF assaults on vivisection labs and fur farms. Imagine that every kid whose personal info is locked in a recruiter's computer is a mink in a fur fam, and you get the picture.
Before you go throwing around "wackos, wingbats, nutjobs and conspiracy theorists, etc..." or listening to those who are, learn a little about the people who call themselves the 9/11 truth movement.

Mayor Potter and the pdx city council have decreed that the bathrooms at City Hall will remain open to the public throughout the night, beginning in August.
