News Media Still Can't Pass Dr. King's Challenge, Can You?
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day ask yourself whether you're up to King's 40 year old challenge which the mainstream news media still hasn't come close to meeting because they so rarely report on stories which affect the LARGEST NUMBER OF PEOPLE in the MOST SERIOUS LIFE-AND DEATH WAYS. Can you take to heart the words King spoke just four days before he was gunned down?

Terrorism at Home and Abroad: Free the Suchitoto 13
Community members in Suchitoto were targeted by the 2006 'Anti-terrorism Law' for standing up against water privatization. The 'Suchitoto 13' are being charged as terrorists and face up to 60 years in prison. The Salvadoran government has been the practice ground for U.S. domestic policy before, and now we see it again in action with the recent HR1955.

Jonathan Paul Will The Real Eco-Terrorists Please Stand Up?

2nd Prison Dispatch from Jonathan Paul

When I was arrested in early 2006 for the destruction of the Cavel West horse slaughterhouse, the media went into a frenzy with headlines describing me as an "eco-terrorist" or "eco-terror suspect". The local newspaper in my area had a heyday putting out stories fed to them by the federal government. The news media in my area surely enjoyed being the mouthpiece for the corporations and the government. For me it was not the fact that they reported the story of my arrest, but how they reported it.

William Kristol, Neocon: Never Having to Say You’re Sorry!
William Kristol Tommy Tomorrow, the cartoonist, said that William Kristol's career as a warmonger had "failed upward!" On Aug. 11, 2008, activist Russell Mokhiber picketed the NYT's office and demanded that Kristol, who was recently named to its Op Ed Page, meet with severely wounded Iraq War veteran, Tomas Young. Young is featured in Phil Donahue's film, "Body of War." Being a repulsive Neocon, like Kristol, means you never have to say you're sorry.

Beyond Post-Apocalyptic Eco-Anarchism
I love life, nature and wild unspoiled places. I hope that you share my appreciation for our magnificent natural heritage. Like many people, I worry about where our global civilization is headed, the direction that human history is taking. Often the company of fellow pessimists affords little comfort and I find myself discouraged, impatient with humanity's cheap follies.

We are all acquainted with visions of the Apocalypse and media fantasies of the period afterwards. Since Hiroshima in 1945 the notion of irreversible mass destruction has flourished. In reality, we have had the option of choosing a global nuclear holocaust since about 1960. What is new today is that our visions of the apocalypse have become more appealing to the discouraged public than ever before. This trend worries me and, I suggest, it should worry you too

WHY DOES THE ESTABLISHMENT HATE RON PAUL?
What is it about Ron Paul that the Establishment finds so disturbing? This is a man who perhaps personifies Christian character and integrity, American patriotism, and family values more than any other public figure. Ron Paul is a committed family man whose marriage to Carol has lasted for more than 50 years. He is a lover of families and children. As an OB/GYN physician, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies into this world. His life demonstrates a commitment to life and marriage.
