When will $1 bills be worth as much as $100 bills?
This week's show is released 10 years to the day since Rumsfeld announced that the Pentagon could not account for 1/4 of all its spending. Like the $2,300,000,000,000 he spoke about, many details from the next day are still unaccounted for, a decade later - including most notably the sudden (though not unexpected) implosion of WTC7. We hear the soundtrack of a new video by AE911 Truth, and testimony from a range of witnesses including Norman Mineta, William Rodriguez and Scott Forbes. We ask what sense it makes to 'demand another investigation' from the same crooks who carried out the first one, and pay tribute to a couple of enthusiastic amateurs who are carrying out individual acts of resistance to the NIST whitewash.
In this point of time since fate was distant at a very young age, and boredom was at the juncture of life, awfully associated to illed people.
When governments fall deaf to social reality, it's up to working people to get loud. Obama's jobs speech proved that the Democrats -- like the Republicans -- suffer from massive hearing loss, unable to listen to the millions of people suffering from the intractable jobs depression.
After mounting pressure from labor and community groups, Obama promised a paltry $447 billion for his American Jobs Act, much of it going to corporations as tax giveaways while the program is to be paid for, in part, by "deficit reduction" -- cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other social programs. Such an insulting "solution" to the deepening recession must be shouted down in the streets, but labor and community groups don't seem up for the challenge.

"The sad legacy of 9/11 is that the assholes, on each side, won." -- Chris Hedges, Truthdig.com ---- no No NO --- The real sad legacy of 9/11 is the matrix which intelligent people like Chris Hedges et. al., have woven to keep the American public perpetual prisoners of the cave.

A long inane rant.
You'd think that if one was truly taken tragedy, that in that grief one would wish to see it never happen again. Typically, there are at least two choices, as we seem to enjoy taking life in doses of dichotic simplicity...
September 11, 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 Inside Job, the American Reichstag Fire, perpetrated for the same reason the Nazis burned their government building, the Reichstag: to perpetrate war and fascism so as to maximize profits for the capitalist class, the primary goal of capitalism, the greatest profits being in oil and munitions. Only a labor movement capable of carrying out a general strike can finally put an end to the private profit system, thereby saving the earth and humanity.
One of NATO/CIA's methods of preventing the left from legally achieving state power all over Europe is the use of false flag terrorist attacks. Chomksy is known to hand wave away the concept of false flag attacks. While agitkid is grateful for Chomsky's analysis in general, Chomsky is strikingly inconsistent on this subject. It is crucial for the left to understand 911 in this context.
When there are zero jobs available, any job will do. This fact has been exploited by corporations now re-labeling themselves "job creators," since being a job creator in a time of depression brings a religious status similar to a rain god during a drought. Democrats and Republicans have lavished eternal praise on the "job creators" and in consequence have created a political atmosphere that is rabidly pro-corporate "job creators" and anti-everything else.
In practice this means that ANY new law or regulation that hinders the power or profits of "job creating" corporations is instantly attacked as a "job killer." This type of logic is good for bumper stickers and Tea Parties but bad for those who suffer under the giant power of corporations, including working people, the unemployed, the self-employed, and the environment.
40 Thousand People Die.
Every year on the highways. Do we really care? Of course not.
Sad that anyone dies. Yet we all will, someday.
It sucks. But the Pity Party for 9/11 will be held. Even though our special forces did it. Because we are expected to be suckers.
With all the 10-year 9/11 anniversary events and articles, I think it's important to recall what your thoughts were at the time. I wrote the following the day after, and continue to stand by my understanding and analysis.
In 2004, Osama bin Laden finally gave an explanation of his inspiration for the attacks on New York and Washington. An excerpt of his rationalization appears below.
Disregard the media circus.
Today, the American continent is still the main front for the biggest operation of imperial conquest. Horizontal, or suburban development, is by far one of the worst ongoing ecological disasters, along with monocultures, the nuclear/biotech industries and the whole natural resources industry, all of these being the only reasons why our former colonies have sprung out of European empires; while imperialism was swept under the carpet in our History classes, while it has become viral, and exponential since the so-called post-war ?decolonization movement?, and especially the ongoing devastating military invasions carried by NATO abroad. More than this, the process of continuous invasion has gone into full battle mode here, right under the veil of social order, and one has to got to live in suburbia for not to see it, because everywhere else, it is an easily observable fact. Obviously, there is something bigger at play behind all the machines of destruction and their restless, mindless soldiers of the construction industry, tying them all together in a same never-ending process.
While the hyper-nationalists, religious/war fetishists, and ALL of media flog themselves stupid over the next several days, i thought it would be worth revisitng the scam that was Pearl Harbor, as it relates to current affairs.
New By Laws for Food Front Coop exclude staff participation on the board. Staff people were surprised to learn today that they are being written out of the by laws. Owners who are voting on the bylaws are unaware of the effect of the changes. Access to information about the By Laws changes seems insultingly non existant.

John Ralston Saul's Book, "Voltaire's Bastards" gives us deep and connective insight into the nightmarish age of reason, and rational systems. His work is suggestive, stimulating and enlightening...A worthy read...
right now there are several people trying to get on kboo's board of directors who are certifiably crazy, wacko nutjobs. are they just distractivists? or do they have ulterior motives (cia)trying to undermine the one place on the airwaves in portland where people are still free to speak their minds, where the corporate powers-that-be have not taken over to control the content, where real people talk about real issues in our community??? save KBOO from the crazies!!!!!

Every description of IRV voting on the Internet seems to be woefully inadequate. The Wikipedia entry is quite inadequate as well. This is probably the first comprehensible explanation. A much different voting method, that would truly empower voters is also described.
American men with Lebanese ancestry may travel to Lebanon in order to obtain quick divorces. In such a situation, the man leaves most of his property, children, and wife in the United States. But could the divorce obtained in such a way be entitled to recognition and enforcement in the United States?
Please do not forget to make an effort every day to put an end to this horrifically destructive exploitation project.
As part of a continental security perimeter arrangement, Canada could be forced to comply with any new U.S. requirements, regardless of the risks they may pose to privacy and civil liberties.
The health care crisis in the United States is getting worse with no visible end. The popular anger over unattainable or unaffordable health care has been diverted away from corporations by crafty politicians, always seeking to exploit a social disaster for their benefactors. Instead of making health care more affordable for the average person, politicians have successfully switched the messaging. Now, the purpose behind "reform" is to make health care less costly for governments and employers, at the expense of patients and workers.
This was the essence behind Obama's health care reform. And although Republicans exploited the "individual mandate" in Obamacare to gain populist credentials, they wholeheartedly agree with the deeper philosophy of the plan, which aspires to control health care costs -- for corporations and governments -- by providing less health care services to those who need it. This agreement to "ration" health care aligns the two parties over the coming cuts to Medicare in Obama's bi-partisan "Super Congress," while also binding the two parties' approach to health care on a state and business level.

Why is the human race so hell bent on death and destruction?
The ongoing pillage of our planet by capitalist globalization and the death and destruction of its wars and environmental degradation can all be traced to Anglo and French white supremacy.

Muslims residing in the State of New York are in a dual situation when it comes to the implementation of family law. On one hand, they are governed by the religious law of Islam, known as Islamic sharia, and on the other hand, the secular family law of the state of New York.
"Karl Marx had it right. At some point capitalism can destroy itself because you cannot keep on shifting income from labor to capital without not having excess capacity and a lack of aggregate demand, and that's what's happening." --Nouriel Roubini
A Hindu divorce decree obtained in India in accordance with Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 may or may not be recognized and enforced in the State of New York. Such recognition, when it happens, is based on the concept of 'comity' in private international law.
As the seeds of Obama's 2012 electoral campaign begin to sprout, labor unions are being forced either to pledge their allegiance or distance themselves from the incumbent president. There has already emerged some hefty splits in the labor movement over the issue, based on the President's complete lack of action on creating jobs combined with his false promises in the 2008 election.
In fact, Obama has presided over the worst atmosphere for U.S. labor unions since the Reagan Administration. He has remained silent over the massive attack on public employee unions while aggressively pushing his union-busting education program, Race to the Top. Obama's 2012 electoral campaign offers enormous potential for U.S. labor unions to stand in opposition to these policies by refusing to endorse or campaign for the President.
Most Democrats never intended to pass a public option or "Medicare for all." Those that did were living in a mush-headed liberal Twilight Zone.
"Karl Marx got it right, at some point capitalism can destroy itself," said Mr. Roubini, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. "We thought markets worked. They're not working."
The world economy is in shambles and about to get worse, according to even mainstream economists. How bad is anybody's guess. Some things, however, are certain: the recovery that politicians have been promising for years existed only in their heads. The reality of the situation is now apparent to millions of people across the globe, who before clung to the empty promises of economic recovery. This new found consciousness will inevitably find expression in the political realm and, more importantly, the streets.
It's soooo symbolic that Perry kicked off his campaign just outside Fort Sumpter, where the Civil War began...
Is the degree to which people litter based on social and economic factors?
Some thoughts on the insurrection in the UK: the ongoing riots in England are profoundly political.
Before coming to power all politicians make promises, many of which they will never be able to fulfill. Some of this is by design and simply meant to gather votes. Some of this is genuine and consists of promises meant to be followed through on the occasion that person is elected to office. Typically the latter consists of a set of main promises while the former consists of secondary promises and stump speech filler. Tough both are based on an idea of what the voting public wants in terms of legislation the main promises are typically those most desired by voters the time.
"Violence is rarely mindless. The politics of a burning building, a smashed-in shop or a young man shot by police may be obscured even to those who lit the rags or fired the gun, but the politics are there." -- penny red
