The high cost of new and improved
A relentless push to induce more consumer purchases is endemic. The weight and size of what we buy is bigger. And it is wrapped up in ever more packaging. The social costs of all this unnecessary consumption are high, and are paid for in environmental destruction.

As long as GMOs continue to be planted and utilized, the whole food chain is endangered. Enacting GMO Labeling implies co-existence with GMO and non-GMO crops. Fire the U.S. Congress for Treason: How Many Blatant Favors for AIPAC?
How many times will U.S. elected Representatives of the U.S. House and Senate have to kiss Israel's ass, and in how many ways, before "our" country will build a true national security team—that is one actually focused on U.S. security and not primarily on Israel's? It is bad enough when Jewish-Americans politicians (with more substantive allegiance to Israel than the U.S.) like junior Senator Ben Cardin for Maryland, claiming his decision on whether Chuck Hagel will be a good Secretary of Defense resides on whether he is onboard with Israel's/AIPAC's agenda of having war with Israel's enemy Iran (at least as backup force); or NY Senator Chuck Schumer equivocating about not "feeling" comfortable with voting for Hagel because of some of Hagel's past attitudes; but even more so with suck-ups like Lindsey Graham giving about the best ass-kissing one could expect (to think some confederates once had some principle of pride and independence).

Internationalist Group 05.01.2013 17:17
Why We Defend the ILWU and All Workers
In recent weeks, a showdown has loomed on U.S. docks between the shipping bosses and port workers that has rattled the capitalist ruling class. On the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, the International Longshoreman's Association prepared to strike container shipping while the employers threatened to lock out 14,500 ILA members. On the West Coast, the grain shippers been demanding a giveback contract from the International Longshore Workers Union (ILWU), which would effectively bypass the union hiring hall, slash workers' vital safety protections and gut union power. Yet in the midst of the Northwest grain battle, an Occupy activist, Peter Little, publishes an article vociferously arguing against the call to defend the ILWU. While posing as ultra-left, this policy if actually carried out would aid the employers who are hell-bent on destroying ILWU union power on the waterfront. Blaming sellouts on the nature of unions lets the bureaucrats off the hook. We in the Internationalist Group say: All those who stand with the exploited and oppressed must come to the defense of the ILWU in this fight. And that defense includes forthrightly opposing the capitulations and betrayals by the labor bureaucracy which sells out vital union gains in the vain hope of an impossible "cooperation" with capital, endangering the workers organizations they preside over.

Letter to All Americans About Gun Control from an Independent Dissident
Guns are an effective form of human violence, which is why they are so often employed in both war and crime. They are dangerous and deadly. Reasons for their existence are not always, or even often, noble. They kill. This is to say we human animals kill—and nowhere more so than for political reasons—such as a nation venturing abroad for purported reasons to exact war against terrorists, etc. (while not ironically understanding that war is terrorism). And yet there is something "more" dangerous than weapons and that is politics itself (that history reminds us over and over again). Guns do "not" exist in a vacuum—they are artifacts built for and by a corrupt species of creature. No government ever—no matter how much naïve trust by blind patriotism exist—should be trusted to the point citizens just hand over their right to defend themselves from those in power. ALL forms of government are corruptible, and so are ALL forms of institution. This government (and especially both major political parties and their lobby cronies), if not thoroughly corrupt, is still too corrupt—including its capacity to violate human rights. Banning of guns (or other Constitutional rights) here in the United States must be understood within these recent radical changes that have happened especially since 9/11. It could be the equivalent of giving Mafia thugs your last weapons.

Flashback to 2001: Hollywood celebrities salute Afghanistan’s “enduring freedom”
On October 7th, 2001 a US-led coalition launched the invasion of Afghanistan. NATO's Incirlik Airbase in Turkey was one of the bases used in this invasion. Two months later, five Hollywood stars paid a visit to NATO's Incirlik Airbase to show their appreciation for U.S. troops overseas. Immediately after the Los Angeles premiere, the cast members of the "Ocean's Eleven" film left for Turkey on a Warner Bros. chartered Boeing 757 for a special screening for the U.S. military personnel.

Egypt’s Revolution Stumbles
The call for a new constitution was a key political demand of the Egyptian people when they overthrew the thirty-year dictatorship of Mubarak. Motivating this was the desire to begin dismantling the repressive bureaucratic state machinery they had suffered under and replace it with a democratic government that would be guided by their needs and hopes. Such aspirations served to unite the divergent forces that made Egypt's political revolution and encourage their grassroots organizing efforts.

Obama’s War on Syria and Its Implications
The Obama administration has already declared war on Syria, even if it isn't "official" yet. Consider the facts, all of them acts of war: The U.S. now recognizes a group of Syrian exiles to be the official government of Syria; the U.S. is providing direct support for rebels attacking the government; the U.S. has coordinated with NATO to place advanced missile systems — and 400 U.S. troops — on Syria's border with Turkey; Obama has drawn a "red line" that, if Syria crosses, would result in U.S. direct military intervention. If any other country made similar moves toward the U.S., there would be no question that war had been declared.

coincidences of CT; Newton, CT school; & Aurora, CO shootings: LIBOR, more shooters, etc
The two boys accused of the Aurora, CO Batman theater shooting and Newton, CT school shoots had fathers who until then were going to blow the whistle on global bank fraud and economic meltdown; all three cases were timed to distract the public and involved evidence of additional shooters who set up the accused; at least two involved same time/case police drills like false flags; and evidence the TCT alleged shooter took care to prevent deaths and those shot were not shot by him or his weapons. These fit with the FBI setting up Mohammed as an excuse to have Portland in the Joint Terrorism Task Force and pre-written legislation or policies and talking points. In each of these four cases the evidence is destroyed, witnesses silenced, accusers anonymous and unbelievable, and the facts don't fit the official story. Two of the boys are heavily drugged and not allowed proper legal representation or health care, and the drugs are powerful for mind-altering, memory-destroying, personality-changing. At least two of the boys evidence the types of drug-caused hypnotism the US government has used repeatedly. In each case, proper police investigation and evidence protection was not followed, and the public is not allowed the videos, 9-1-1 calls, witness reports, etc. that contradict the official story that does not make sense.

No matter how strong they might get, unions will not get all the Walmart gold by any means. Their union phobia is mostly just another red-herring. They really just want all the money!

If the American people ever regained the power to demand high tariffs, and every nation followed suit, they couldn't play us off against other workers. They would be forced to re-build local industry and pay decent wages! It's so simple!

If the American people ever regained the power to demand 100% inheritance taxes, the fat lazy conniving rich would have to earn their money just like the rest of us, and the vast mountains of corruption and deceit would dwindle away.

It's not the 'deficits/debts' themselves that matter, rather than the 'ability to repay these debts in the future through future productivity" that actually matters.
