One final joke from the man who operated under the myth of a smaller government.
A devastating dissection of the Forbidden Truths of how human society chooses to sponsor, encourage, facilitate, and revel in the genocidal victimization, abuse, torture, and murder of it's child-slaves.
DPRK propaganda praises Songun as the greatest politics and Kim Jong Il as a perfect statesman. This is no surprise as all KCNA and NDFSK reports are fabricated as ordered by Kim Jong Il and his top aides. But what is Songun really like?
"Howard Zinn spoke on the Friday evening and was featured on the first page of the program drumming up the growing surge of anti-Bush sentiment"

U.S Troops in Portland!!!
The center has been systematically destroyed by what is now identified as "neo-con" politics and which began in the 1960's with William Buckley's "National Review" characterization of "liberalism" as "leftist". This "conservative" viewpoint took off with Barry Goldwater's "Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice," (which really says that the center constituted an attack on liberty), and continues up to the present day with Dubya's idea that "You are with us or against us," (which really means that if you object to the domination of politics by the Republican Party, as manifest in the USA Patriot Act, you are a supporter of terrorism).
reagan was a despicable and dangerous man. it's really unfortunate that men like this die in comfort surrounded by loved ones in their beautiful homes at an advanced age. i take some solace in the fact that he was losing his mind for the past few decades and by the end didn't even recognize his wife. perhaps, when he finally closed his eyes for the last time, he thought himself surrounded by hostile strangers.
With the death of Ronald Reagan the world will now face a weeklong orgy of grandiloquent of US military power and American Imperialism. Reagan was a cold-blooded murderer, a union busting parasite, con artist, and a good liar. Reagan was evil personified, he can rot in hell.
It seems that every other day we're hearing about "Hooters" from the corporate media. Every time Hooters opens a new dive, they're on it. With everything happening in the world, they somehow find the time to cover this "story." Today, I'm hearing about a Hooters airline where men "get what they want" (snicker snicker nudge nudge).
Workers should shed no tears over Reagan's passing
It's really nice that the super-rich in the wealthy countries have "a life" where they can get boutique medical services to address their non-problems.... Pity that the non-super-rich in most of the rest of the world get their lives cut short by completely treatable medical conditions.
It's been a long, dark, strange trip these past three-plus years, but rejoice, dear readers: Bush is toast! How can this be, you ask, and how can one be so sure? Read on, and be ye comforted: Find out why the Bushman goeth come November.

Today concluded the class that i took at LCC - Nature, Religion and Ecology. It was a dynamic and powerful course that left us all with a sense of possibility and responsibility. Our finals were presentations on creation; what an amazing amount of wisdom there was from everyone! This class, will not however, be the end for many of us who want to meet as a group and continue our exploration of how we can help further the path of human rEvolution through our personal and collective actions.
Consolidate Reagan-related items?
The current welfare system in America is domestic abuse, pure woman-hating, and nothing else. It is very clear who women and children are here to serve. The welfare system has done as much dehumanizing of a population as any prison. Welfare workers is an oxymoron.
Anyone remember Ayatollah Khomeini's funeral?
That's what the Conservative PR frenzy reminds me of.
The growth game devised by the Home Builders Association and the corporate community is to siphon as much natural wealth from the earth and as much fiscal wealth from the pockets of the poor and middle class as possible. The way to do this is to constantly feed the fire of demand, artificial demand then fulfilled with jacked-up supply. The way to generate demand is by putting in place the businesses that create the jobs that attract workers from other states and countries. While a few of the jobs provide middle to upper income wages, the vast majority of them are low-paying.
On Tuesday, June 8th, the planet Venus will glide directly across the face of the Sun. No one alive today has seen Venus "transit" the Sun — it last happened in 1882.
The compost articles of today are of some and perhaps in the past are of interst.
It is a tragic farce that so many Americans are blindly worshipping Ronald Reagan without the slightest memory of his policies that caused misery, death and destruction for large areas of the developing world.

A joke, and a dream...
I found this on the Greg Palast site today
Another day, another Urban Growth Boundary expansion. What's the point of having boundaries if they're always going to be expanded? We keep protesting public lands forest destruction while forest and farm land destruction continues unabated right here in our Columbia-Willamette Watershed. When will it end? When will the so-called environmental elected officials stop giving all away to developers and big business?
About a "stop growth" action alert button on Portland Indy Media?
Marvin Heemeyer, the Granby, Colorado man who assaulted the town in protest against the building of a concrete factory near his muffler shop, and allegedly killed himself, was an Air Force veteran according to this Rocky Mountain News article about him.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but why should we even bother to collect State sales taxes if the House is going to vote to allow people to write it all off at the end of the year? And doesn't even more bailout money in corporate tax relief mean less money for struggling public services? How on earth does the House think we are going to be able to do this and maintain crucial services, fund a "war", or shore up the increasingly demanding Office of Homeland Security?
Usually, I am very reluctant to criticize the dead. However, since the corporate media seems so fervent in their desire to glorify Ronald Reagan and will undoubtedly spend weeks, if not months, in this effort, I think an alternative perspective is only fair.
The death of Ronald Reagan should rally all of us who believe in the power of the people and the good inherent in our society to rally at the final downfall of a man who personified the destruction of the American middle class, and single-handedly created the Drug War, Al Qaida, Iraq, and a culture of unprecedented fear.
Sick of npr eulogizing that bastard raygun into sainthood?
Let 'em know to CUT IT OUT!
John Kerry and Al Gore on the same team would be unbeatable.
I swear there was an article with a bunch of posts on portland.indymedia earlier today. Now it's gone. It was just a repost, but the comments were good.
Yesterday I walked along the waterfront of the Willamette River as it passes through downtown Portland. There lingered on the sidewalk chalkmark Christian crosses, Stars of David, a few Islamic moons. Each commemorating a now dead US combatant. The line of marks was very long, surprisingly long. It was hard not to shed a tear. How long will the line be next year?
Well, I really wish I had a video camera.
