The movie Control Room is a series of raw, off-the-cuff film vignettes, carefully woven together, which give the viewer a ringside seat inside the guts of a frenetic media operation.
who is this guy larouche and why is a dedicated group of young people following him around like some kind of enlightend guru?
Scientific breakthrough should bring good cheer to abstinent chastity campaigners around the world as scientists discover that lifelong monogamy is genetically based, with the hormone vasopressin responsible for 'sexually moral conduct'.
It is likely that if people actually voted for the Presidential candidate that they felt best represented them, Kerry would be languishing in third place, with Nader possibly first or in a strong second position.
Right wing death squads and a hub for drug smuggling is Bush's vision of democracy in Iraq all orchestrated by the ambassador of death, Negroponte. The old Iran Contra gang are all in place once again ready to flood the streets of America and Europe with cheap heroin from Afghanistan. The Bush administration's reluctance to hand Saddam over to the interim government of Iraq maybe based not on a fear of Saddam's military capabilities but on a fear of him telling what he knows about drug smuggling.
No television or radio advertising for Fahrenheit 9/11?
Inquiring minds want to know. Put these questions to the Politicians and the Press. Poke and prod and pinch all the sleeping dawgs you can find.

Okay, so here in the midwest racism is as rampant as denial, but I am going to stray from that a bit and talk about a few other things. Gender and Sexuality.

Normally I wait until a film hits one of the independant, inexpensive theatres in town. Paying eight dollars and fifty cents to watch a pepsi commercial aint for me. However I intend to make an exception for the Micheal Moore film.
No more election cheating!
Fascist mass murderers and torturers from the "dirty" wars in Latin America are being contracted by Blackwater to apply their disgusting techniques against the Iraqi people. The scum of the Earth are coming to Iraq.
Q: What's worse (much worse, actually) than a U.S. Attorney General tussling with U.S. Senators over a definition of torture? A: Finding out the U.S. government has actively sought a way to commit it. Can anything be done to counter this insanity? There'd better be, for our country's soul depends on it.
No doubt about it, there will be a draft. Let's not make the same mistake twice and sit back silently again. Ask the questions, demand some answers. How many will be drafted. Who will be drafted? How long will it last? Do Conscientious Objectors and Pacifists have an option to refrain from participation?

[As you may notice, I've cut this part of the article because the question of peace talks between the left party RPMP-RPA-ABB and the Government has obviously nothing to do with the gangsters of GUAC. It's better to avoid any confusion. - Felix Zorba, October 7, 2003]
It almost goes without saying that there are a few things wrong with this country right now. There is one thing in particular, though, that seems to be the root of all of these problems. I'll give you a hint: it starts with a 'G', and ends with an 'eorge W. Bush'. Did you figure it out? Millions of Americans already have.
The 9/11 comission said that Cheney gave the order to shoot the hijacked planes but that the order didn't managed to reach the fighter jets? Then why did he said otherwise about 2years and an half ago?
J18 is coming up. Do you believe it has been five years? Our first big 'day of action against the global economy'! Well, Rob is still in prison. He has two years left too. D Don't forget the Eugene riot and the person we lost that day.

Occasionaly even the mainstream media prints something that actually reflects reality. This article from today's Oregonian is sobering.
..All kinds of folks come out of the past and proceed to rip Bush and company a new one:
Recognizing Campaign achievements
The Dennis Kucinich presidential campaign has changed the American political landscape. Even though the Democratic Party appears headed to selecting its presumptive nominee, Dennis Kucinich, with the help of dedicated and determined supporters, has kept the debate on the issues alive long after others bowed out. And if you look closely at platform resolutions adopted at state conventions currently underway across the country, the progressive values of the Kucinich campaign are loudly and clearly being embraced and advanced by Democrats around the nation. The resolutions are essentially endorsements by the state Democratic parties of specific ideas and policies. With the primary season coming to an end, let's take a moment to acknowledge the hard work of our grassroots in getting these resolutions passed.
From the FOX website
(FinalCall.com) - On May 6, the Bush administration announced another round of serious measures aimed at destabilizing the sovereign nation of Cuba. In what can be described as being a maniacal approach to foreign policy, the Bush administration has now made it more difficult for Cuban Americans to send funds to their family members back home, and more difficult for them to travel to Cuba to visit relatives.
Ok, I am now officially off of the American-bashing bandwagon. Also, I'd like to point out that the two MythBusters guys must have been smoking hydrangia when they did the chicken gun myth test, and again when they sought to retest.
Portland is my home, although I did not grow up there. This summer, I have opted to take a sabbatical in the midwest. I am visiting family and friends in the midwest and on the east coast, hopefully I can do more regular updates as it strikes me. Currently I am in Northwest Indiana, about thirty minutes outside of Chicago, where I grew up. And i want to let people know that while I may write like I am not a part of it, i definately succumb and agree alot...indicting myself.
MoveAmericaForward.org (a misnamed group, if I ever heard of one) has mounted an e-mail campaign to harrass theater owners showing Michael Moore's new film, FARENHEIT 9/11. Why not counter their blitz by investing some time in writing to the same theaters and THANKING them for having the courage to air the film?

Did you read Blackthorn's latest issue? It was awesome as always, with one exception: an article called Overkill. This is a letter describing the issues that I found to be discouraging in this article. If you didn't read the article, well, basically, what I have to say is that the problems we face are the results of many forces, and that we shouldn't point fingers at the innocent and powerless, and also that when we as 'radicals' use anthropology to make our points, we should look at who we get our info from.

We all should of learned our lessons from the 2000 elections. We were all told over and over again by the media that "this election proves that your vote truly does matter." I say bullshit. If anything that so called election proved just the opposite.
Granted, PGE is a private company, but think of how much of a break they could give us on our electric bills if they didn't have their finger in so many pies
are the republicans behind the death threats to michael moore?
One last thankyou to Ronnie for the 1986 Tax "Reform" which introduced the system that we now have where at the end of a year when you were hard hit by unemployment, you find that -- instead of a refund -- you owe more money than you could possibly have in "jobless recovery." So then you get to pay it by installments, plus interest, of course. Thank you, Ronnie, RIP.

Reagan's obituary, as written from the perspective of the many victims of his policies.
A quick, loose translation (no attempt at sounding poetic, I'm after as much meaning as I can manage to transmit, given that Benedetti puns a lot, not necessarily in obvious ways):
"Decolonization never takes place unnoticed for it transforms
individuals and modifies them fundamentally. It transforms
spectators crushed with their inessentiality into privileged
actors with the grandiose glare of history's floodlights
