Sunday (after election) Oregonian Commentary Section
Generally, I don't waste $0.35 on our local newspaper behemoth, The Oregonian, let alone the $1.50 they ask for the Sunday edition. However, this is the SUNDAY AFTER, a day that ends a week high anxiety and despair for Oregon progressives, much like the Sabbath that follows the Super Bowl, when arm chair quarterbacks across the nation must find something else to amuse themselves until next season.

Culmination of long-term GOP agenda: no fraud required
The Republican Party has worked long and hard to achieve dominance of the US government. The GOP realized that real people are not like the inhabitants of the Left's fantasy land, where everyone's vote is a simple reflection of economic concerns. The GOP has masterfully exploited people's fears and insecurities and set the political agenda.

Storm Troopers & Patriots
By 8:00 PM on Election Day, I was convinced that I was watching the slickest damn con job ever put over on the American people. The TV coverage was pitiful. By now its becoming increasingly clear that Bush stole another election. Once the results in western states could be predicted the vote tally in Florida could be juggled in favor of Bush. Once the outcome in the west was known the vote tally in Ohio could be juggled similarly.

NEVER in U.S. presidential politics have massive crowds shown up to endorse an incumbent!
ENOUGH! Time for Cuffs 15 million new voters were registered in one of the most massive get out the vote drives ever, through the citizen efforts of grassroots organizing and exemplified the beauty and need to continue towards participatory democracy. A large majority were planning to try to have their votes recorded for Kerry/Edwards. Amazingly with all the widespread disgust and discontent, Bush/Cheney added almost 10 million votes from the 2000 debacle, 49mil to 59mil while the Democrats only increased 2mil from 53(Gore/Nadar) to 55. Here are some reports and analysis that point toward proving what the Media reported cannot stand up to an audit, verification, certification of a fair, free honest and legitimate election. This scripting, trickle-down reality control makes a mockery of citizens time and efforts to ensure the process respects the sanctity of the vote.

Now a New Zealand political activist has published suspicions, along with supporting evidence, that electronic voting in the US is being manipulated by right-wing politicians with the connivance of several voting machine manufacturers. The story revolves around some highly volatile conjectures and might be explosive, if fully investigated.

if you asked yourself in the three days after the election, where is Michael Moore ... and if ask, when he pops-up again, why does he do his best to distract from the fraud of counting the votes ... try remembering what did you ask yourself as Michael Moore did his best to avoid the question of the "plane that hit the Pentagon", the "detail" that immediately exposes 9/11 as a insider operation, even for a child.

There's two kinds of Republicans
When you say "Kerry really won, both kinds say "sore loser." One kind really thinks that, the other kind knows the truth and thinks "sucker!"
Why care about what either thinks of you? Speak the truth --- Kerry won.
(The other truth may be "so what?" especially given the failure of the Democrats to prevent election theft from happening again. If they can't fight this, they could not have fought the Repubs in Congress.)

All is not lost, but WE have to make the change.
In the aftermath of the election, it's easy to feel disconnected and despairing, but clearly we cannot wait for Washington to get it together. We have to choose to build the world we want to live in, every day. This means voting, yes voting, even if it doesn't seem to count. But it also means taking care of each other, offering solutions and hope, preserving those things that make life worth living, so that there is something to go back to once the fighting for it is done with.

Youth Don't Vote
While more young people voted in this week's election than ever before, about the same percentage of young registered voters actually made it into the polling booth in this election as in 2000.

Voting is an act of exceptional discipline. Especially in Ohio where it rained all day long. Voting in those conditions requires discipline and young adults simply don't have it (yet).
