Congress on Steroids! Watch No-Nonsense Representatives Get Tough With Witnesses!
In the baseball steroid hearings, we saw aggressive questioning by representatives, but when it involves anything important, like war funding or CIA torture, members of this Congress are nothing but yes-men and neutered pussycats.

Annoying imperfections . . .
Here I am, driving somewhere, listening to radio. I don't know why but it was NPR -- a creative piece about how some things never change. It ends "Different wars, different soldiers, same crime."

Yesterday or so, I posted something that was well received at PIMC about "Just turn it off -- It's all a load of shit" and I included in that a blanket condemnation of NPR. (At the time, I was thinking of Cokey Roberts, NPR's foremost liar on behalf of corporate power.)

CASCADIA! THE SOLUTION TO THE FASCISTS!
Enough is enough! We are fighting on numerous fronts and a storm of battles! This is like fighting one demon after another only to see we are in a storm of demons coming across the horizon! Look at all the battles we are doing. They know we can not fight on every front like this. I suggest we focus and get rid of it in one swoop with secession! This does not mean leaving the lines of battle that we are entrenched in, but do so while encouraging others and telling them we are all under attack! I believe if Cascadia or another region broke free or at least tried the whole house of cards would collapse. Other states would break from the union. The military would even collapse. A Cascadia would destroy these fascists and the world would be in our debt!

If we do not unite we will be fall in these battles. Everyone in this region has stake in this. We just need to alert them to it! We need an outreach group.

Big Protest: What Will It Accomplish?
on March 19 there will be synchronized protests all over the world. just what do they really hope to accomplish? will the powers that be actually bother to see/hear them? will the people of the world actually get their attention? somehow, i doubt it! i know this seems like a pessimisstic attitude on my part, but until we ALL realize just how "deep the rabbit hole" goes we are not going to make any progress.until we truly realize the forces behind 911, GMO, WTO, IMF, etc. we, the people of this planet will be forever spinning our collective wheels. to truly OVERSTAND the situation we need to truly know just what the real situation is. CHECK OUT THE REAL SITUATION! here's a little piece by John Kaminski that i happen to think can help us all to see/look in the right places:

"[Martin Luther] King and his kind have betrayed our bosom interests with their demagogic delirium. The poor fool knows nothing of the antagonist's true nature and has not the perception to read and learn by history and past events. In a nonviolent movement there must be a latent threat of eruption, a dormant possibility of sudden and violent action if concessions are to be won, respect gained, and the established order altered. That nonviolent theory is practicle in civilized lands among civilized people, the Asians and Africans, but a look at European history shows that anything of great value that ever changed hands was taken by force of arms." --George Jackson, Soledad Brother

The Federal Government now functions like the Ministry of Truth in 1984. The New York Times has just released (about 50 years too late) a report on how what was once journalism in the U.S. has been replaced by news releases written by PR departments of big corporations. The only real news in the NYT story is how PUBLIC GOVERNMENT money is being used by Republicans at the national and state levels (Schwarzenegger in California) to do the same thing from government agencies -- in violation of democratic principles and existing law.

Time For the People to UPRISE, Because We Know Who Our Enemy Is
This morning I was sitting on my porch and as the bus drove by I saw this very noble and beautiful black woman staring out the window and looking in my general direction. She was looking sad and I could only wonder what menial job she was headed to. I could only wonder if she was thinking to herself "i've been working all my life but ain't got nothing show, i ain't telling you nothing you dont already know."

This is all taking place in North Portland, and the community is getting harder. The other day the shots rang out. They rang out on 17th and Killingworth, the rang out on Shaver and Mississippi. The nice weather brings out the street element.

As protesters we say to ourselves, "whose streets, our streets" and we say it to the cops with little or no meaning whatsoever, because we dont have it in our colelctive consciousness that we CAN make that the reality.

March 19th, The start of something new
Everyone wants peace, that is a given. But the question is how far will we go to accomplish peace? Following an ice-cream truck around in a parade fashion is not my idea of an actual protest. Our voices need to be heard, not muffled. There have been too many times we have been ignored because of our lack of persistence. Do we not care anymore? When the war started we protested, but why have we dimmed our actions? March 19th should be the new beginning of a revolt. How many more people does our nation have to kill in order for people to understand what is going on? We are the ones that have to put an end to this senseless brutality. What ever happened to "For the people, by the people"? Time of action is at hand.
