I just had an epiphany. Many years of observing trolls on IMC have short of culminated in this explanation as to why people aren't responding to anything. Even the government itself publicly uses this technique to lambast issues. What technique is that? Shaming.
This Friday, January 8th at 3 p.m outside of the walnut room on the U of O campus here in Eugene.
The latest from the "NO on LNG" campaign from Oregon, Senator Wyden appears at town hall meetings, asked by public to pressure FERC to prove an actual need for an LNG facility and trans-state pipeline that justifies eminant domain seizure of resident's property. Includes commentary on Cascadian Subduction Zone spawned tsunami risks to LNG tankers and how local, state and federal officials may be trying to put al Queda out of business by killing more Americans than al Queda can by allowing the highly explosive LNG facility to be built without consulting seismologists about the risks of CSZ tsunamis.
While the mainstream media debates whether climate change exists, some people in Olympia gathered at 8 am this rainy morning to observe the highest tide at Percival Landing. Colorful umbrellas and windsocks brightened the scene and the band lifted the spirits, providing a sense of optimism that the community could find solutions to a looming crisis.
My name is Alexander Reisinger. Liberty Hall was started in my mother's basement, Susan. The people involved were Brian, Leif Desert Rat, Christian Nostalgia, Jenny Knowles, and myself. The Hall was started in anticipation of a UPS walkout, commiserate to a turnover and signing of a long term contract. The contract between the labor unions, (ILWU) International Long Shore Union, and the UPS bosses was signed. No actions by Liberty Hall had to be taken. We were leasing Liberty Hall from an Ethiopian Activist, Allum, who held the Hall as a music venue before us. It had been a Reggae Hall.

a question for every action group
As an animal rights activist, I am concerned about the popularity of so-called "dog whisperer" Caesar Milan, and his outdated "pack leader" mentality. Don't get me wrong. Milan has done a lot of good for a lot of dogs. He's an advocate of rehabilitation for even the most aggressive of dogs, he constantly educates people about the ignorance surrounding the hype over bully breeds, and he locates dog behavior problems in the humans handling the dogs, not in the dogs themselves. He also believes in what he does, and for some people and some dogs, his methods work. But that's not the whole story. This is.

Public landowners deliver petition opposing Palomar Pipeline to NW Natural NW Natural ratepayers opposing NW Natural's plans for Mt. The pipeline threatens public lands - public lands owned by us.
Every year, thousands of people turn in their dogs and cats to county animal shelters. They all have their... "reasons." They will tell you how they "just couldn't care for him anymore," how they are moving, how they are having a baby, how they are downsizing, how the cat is peeing outside the box, how the dog has become a "handful." And they will tell themselves, and you, that it was the right thing to do, that it was for the good of the animal, that it is the best thing. They stupidly think the dog or cat will get a "good home."
This is a call for informed consent reform and the criminal prosecution of medical staff who participate in the "medical rape" of patients.
The new Hey NW Natural Campaign is uniting gas customers with farmers to hold NW Natural accountable and protect our public lands. Over 1500 private landowners, two state forests and Mt. Hood National Forest are threatened by the pipeline. You can take action to protect Oregon farmers and public land.

We've had so many killings, beatings, and disgraceful acts committed by police officers in this town. It's really been hard to believe. But each time it happens, we are told by the media that the unarmed and often dead victim somehow "deserved" the violence, and if anyone gets too uppity in questioning what happened, we are told that it was just "a few bad apples."

There will be no Dumpster diving, mooching from gardens or picking from cultivated fruit trees. In an effort to highlight wild food, Lerner's unusual menu will include thistle, sumac, dandelion and other weeds; fat she gathered from a roadkill deer; the root vegetable wapato; acorns, chestnuts, hazelnuts and black walnuts harvested from city trees; mushrooms; stinging nettles; hawthorn berries; yellow dock seeds; cleavers, and more.
"Foraging is a fun and free way to get healthy local food," Lerner said. "It's also a survival skill that can come in handy in an emergency, and a way to get in touch with our roots as hunter-gatherers."

Kudos to our source in Washington D.C. for pointing out a little-noticed news item in The Washington Post some time back indicating there was an FBI probe when a purported associate of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) allegedly stalked Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.). The news apparently never made it into the Chicago papers. Hmm. We wonder why the papers here are so timid about this hot story?
Studies show that global warming is worsening. I regard this seriously because I know that disinformation regarding this issue is common, just as it is with any other. I don't wish to knock other authors, but reality is determined by the weighing of facts presented by various sources.
