In four years of the war in Iraq, over 2,000 US soldiers and over 150,000 Iraqis have died. Hundreds of billions of dollars later later, our troops are still fighting in Iraq. The declared mission has been proven false and now civil war rages on. This is an illegal war founded on lies told by the Bush administration and sustained by Congressional acquiescence, Republican and Democrat alike.

a song in Chinook Wawa
ok last night out of frustration and needing to occupy my mind on
some little project that I could throw myself into without deadlnes
and pressure I interepted this song into Chinook Wawa (Chinook
Jargon)... I did change some of the words (hence an interpetation
not literal translation). Two things I changed were specific
geographic names so I switch one from a specific river to the
Chinook Jargon word for "downstream" and a specific "square"
or "park" to Cheechako Lolo which can be translated as New Comer
Gathering Place. Also changed a tradtional "ethnic" mucical
instrument to "mamook pompom" drumming. And out of need had to cut
one line because the Chinook Jargon way of expressing two of the
verses was longer than the English and other Indo-European versions.
And ofcourse an interpetation does not follow the exact word order
of a literal translation.

Personally I would love to hear this sung by a female singer. And
after listening to several songs in Chinok Jargon they can at times
sound like a merger of French and Native American languages.

If any creative and talented people out there wish to record this I would love to here it.

So guess the song.
hint its about 15 years old or so
there are versions in Russian, Spanish and other languages online for free.

Protesters at Plum/East Bay and State in Olympia In protest of the illegal war in Iraq and the militarization of the Olympia Port, community members came together to take a stand. The day started out with a group of around 30 holding signs on the corners of State and Plum/East Bay. After 12 noon, much of the group moved closer to the entrance of the port. A group of 10 formed a blockade to stop one of the convoys around 1:30. Eight people were arrested after stopping the convoy for about 30 minutes.

Bird Flu Confirmed In Human to Human Transmission
There seem to be two schools of thought with regard to H5N1. The first is that it is a conspiracy to thin the population and/or make a bundle off of drugs like Tamiflu. The second is the opposite situation, that H5N1 is much closer to human-to-human transmission than previously thought and the conspiracy is the under-reporting of the potential pandemic. This story broke today in the Azeri-Press Agency.

Secretary of State Audit Finds Contracting Out More Expensive
Ron Saxton, as governor, proposes to privatize some of the functions now performed by state employees. He tells the voters this action would reduce taxes. In reality, it costs the tax payers more money privatizing government duties than having state employees do the work. The work done by the private sector is usually done poorly where a state employee could have done better work. In some cases, state employees have to review or audit the private sector's work, which would have been cheaper if the state employees did it their own. Here is an article to support my rant.
