perhaps someone will remember to include those killed in oaxaca ***long before** will and
Since there is so much news of late on predatory policing that uses killing in lieu of effective
"behavior management" in the Portland area, and the so-called "authorities" seek to attribute
it in great part to "inadequate training" and "budgetary limitations" that have left the social
network in tatters, it is most newsworthy when two major figures in Oregon's political scene
that are directly involved with "police training" and "state budget limitations" (that rolled-back
the social services funding in draconian manner) are themselves the subject of SCANDALOUS
NEWS REPORTING. Such news deserves to be widely reported and read...don't you agree?
Impeach for Peace, a Minnesota-based impeachment group, has put together a great little "action plan" to actually file impeachment papers. I mean papers that an individual citizen can easily file on their own!
They are leading an effort to make a big splash by enlisting all like minded people in the effort.
Every last Friday of the month, Critical Mass rides through the streets of Olympia. Today folks got together to ride, leaving the Evergreen State College at 5:00 and reaching downtown about a half an hour later. In costumes and good spirits, waving and ringing bells, the ride started off on a positive note. In fact, it was the biggest ride ever, with rider-numbers at their highest ever. The ride, around 80 strong, reached downtown to be greeted by a number of police cars and four bike cops.
Thousands of acres of ancient forest in western Oregon are on the chopping block. As terrible as these existing timber sales are, if the BLM gets way with it's current plans of throwing out key provisions of the Northwest Forest Plan, for instance NWFP riparian reserves, this will be just the tip of the iceberg. These good ol boys and their Oregon timber baron masters must be stopped.

The largest medical marijuana patient/caregiver organization in Oregon is in a dispute with their former webmaster over who paid for and who owns their domain names.
Chemlawn/Trugreen corporation manufactures pesticides used in lawncare and lanscaping, posing great risk to worker's health and ecosystem with their petrochemically derived carconogenic products misleadingly labeled as "organic" and safe. Public schoolchildren at risk from public school contracts wit Chemlawn/Trugreen products..
I got my ballot today. I need some help discerning who to vote for and why. What is the fine print on the ballot measures why should I vote yes or no on them?
In an effort to be relevant it is wise to seek the counsel of those who have come before. De-programming takes time. Be patient.
debt, debt, debt and slavery
Well, as pointed out over and over, when the police continue to overstep, the people will cease to work with them, and will, instead, work against them. In Gervais, the cops had to call backup, when the father of a fifteen year old refused to let the cops take him down, and an assault ensued.
Seems the chief of police is less than pleased that someone has been putting up posters decrying the killing of citizens by cops. Tough shit, Rosie!

We've got a few things to share with you, but first we just wanted to again express our thanks to all of you who have put time and energy into supporting Jeff whether it's sharing his story with others, writing a letter, donating money, or purchasing the "22/8" documentary DVD about Jeff and sharing it with friends or screening it at your local café to help spread the word about Jeff and the repression that activists face. There are still DVD's available, and although we have sold out of the Heartcheck zines, we are now selling photocopies at a reduced rate. Contact us for details on ordering the DVD or zine.
Thank you! Your support means so much to us and to Jeff.

the more I read here and even in corporate-media, it is so
painfully obvious that PPB is in cover-up mode and they've
put the fear of God in Tom so he plays along with their very
misguided attempt to protect their already trashed "image".

I normally agree with the League of Women Voters, but on Measure 45, the LWV is not only wrong in its position, it is sending out insultingly unintelligent arguments against the ballot measure requiring term limits for Oregon State Senate and House.

A bunch of campuses around the region are collaborating to bring Omoyele Sowere, a well known Nigerian anti-oil activist to Oregon and Washington next month (Nov. 13-20th)
If you care about the abusive role of oil and corporate power in our society, human rights in Africa, or climate change you won't want to miss this super special event.
We need help with outreach. Most immediately, we could really use help from a graphic designer to make an awesome 11" x 17" poster for this event and maybe a sweet handbill.
Please contact brian--at--mountainrebel.net for more info. Below is more info on Omoyele himself

the next election fraud
After first filing suit in July of 2001, and then winning in the court of appeals in April 2005, In Defense of Animals (IDA) has accepted a settlement offer, marking Oregon Health Sciences University's (OHSU) long-delayed compliance with the Oregon Public Records Act. OHSU has agreed to provide IDA with precisely what it requested in 1998; access to health and behavioral records of primates kept at the Oregon National Primate Research Center without charge.
The family has made their statement, and naturally feels shortchanged from justice.
Anyone been screwed by Social Security? I'm looking for individual stories from people who have been there or know someone who has. All comments will be held in the strictest privacy.
since these 3 cops got away with killing fellow-citizen
James Chasse, Jr. and were "exonerated", we can expect them to be back on the job more emboldened than before, and thus, more of a danger to we citizens.
Since we can no longer depend on our "system" to look
out for us and serve us justly, and our leaders have
turned out to be self-serving liars, we need to arm
ourselves with as much information as possible about these citizen-killers so that should we come face to
face with them, we can act accordingly and take due
deligence in any dealings we may have with these kind
of citizen-killers, who have just killed and could just
as easily do so again without any sense of conscience
or human considerations.
Now, we must protect ourselves from our so-called law-
ful "protectors" as we never know whether they'll go
bonkers on us or someone else, and kill us in a sense-
less manner and get by with doing it.
We need pictures to know what they look like, and their
addresses so we can determine if we have citizen-killer
in our respective neighborhoods.
So, please post pictures here of the offending killers.
At least we'll know what they look like and can then
treat them as they are...as killers!
Most of us posting here are familiar with Nobel-laureate Alexander Soltzhentsyn and his famous writings on the nature of tyranny. Given the trend the PoPiggies have shown in their senseless killing of innocence, it is certainly worth recalling Soltzhentsyn's most poignant words now:
Four NW congressmen, spurred by loud and uninformed special interest groups, are demanding the right to kill sea lions in the Columbia river, in direct violation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA). H.R. 6241, if passed, would allow up to 80 sea lions to be needlessly slaughtered each year, would begin the slide away from protections of marine mammal species, and would be exempt from any environmental reviews normally required under the National Environmental Policy Act. The killing could start as early as this spring. They say they are doing it to save the salmon. This is wrong. Just wrong.
watch it and know what we all must fight for
PLease immediately call all of your congressional reps and demand that they put a stop to plans to begin "culling" (killing) sea lions as early as this spring.
The Gifford Pinchot Task Force is urging its supporters to vote NO on Initiative 933. I-933 is the most extreme threat to Washington 's environment and quality of life in over a decade -- rolling back hard fought state and local protections. Please join us in voting NO on I-933!

We, Cascadians, have seen and experienced criminal and other questionable results and actions in elections in Washington State from the gubernatorial race to smaller county races throughout the state.
The autumn equinox turned the skies nearly a month ago now. Even then, the dry, yellowed grasses waved impassively in the still, warm air. The leaves, while glowing here and there with color, tended to crackle and fall from branches before lighting up the woods. The parched earth gave no indication that the summer had ended. Even the hazy yellow light hung in the air, rather than the crisp, golden light of fall. And we waited, and the world lazily waited. But now, it's autumn.
Wouldn't it be great if our scientists, here in Oregon, found an answer to the one uncertainty that has most troubled mankind, ever since the birth of the industrial revolution? A cheap clean and plentiful source of energy that could be gotten at little or no cost. But what would be societies reaction to such a happening; celebration, or something more dire?
Just got word that the Kim Thatcher sign crew took down our "9-11- Who Really Did It? " sign
Folks in Longview are staging a march across the Columbia River to protest their own LNG development in solidarity with other communities in North Bend, OR, California, and Mexico. All communities reject the need for LNG on the West Coast, and believe that there are safer, cleaner, more secure sources of energy (such as conserving energy).
