Most people know what the wide range of groups which come
together on May Day are against - capitalism or
globalisation - but do they have any alternative plan?
The 1st of May reminds us of the execution, after a set-up prepared by the
police, of several anarchists in the United States, in the context of the
struggles to obtain a working day of eight hours. This happened in 1886.
ANARCHIST groups seeking revenge on the police are planning
scattered attacks on a variety of secret targets in London
during next week?s May Day demonstrations.
This is the text of a leaflet produced for the May Day
demonstration in Glasgow.
London Police are today desperately hunting five anarchists before
the May Day protests begin.
May 1st is observed around the world as a workers holiday, a celebration of the labor movement and its traditions. In cities everywhere, people take to the streets and try to make their presence known. There's the speechmaking of union leaders and the bluster of leftist politicians. We go through the motions of being in the streets once again, but this day has not always been such a safe and predictable affair.

I don't get it--cops get busted for beating the crap out of someone, but they expect people to believe all the hype about violent may day marchers...they still keep referring to may day "rioters" from may day 2000--anyone remember a riot (besides the police riot)?
