For an inside look that goes a long way to explaining why the news you read and see from the corporate media is crap, read this story. Jason Leopold writes on the guerrilanews.com website about he nailed Army Secretary (and former Enron exec) White in a good piece of investigative reporting, then had his career destroyed for it. People often ask what the so-called "anti-globalization" movement is actually for. The usual response is that we're for a lot of things, ranging from ecological sustainability to racial equality; but if there's one theme at the very center of the movement, which really sets it apart from social movements that have come before, it's its dedication to direct democracy.

Some two hundred racists were gathering there to meet before driving to their fascist march and rally in Washington, D.C. later that day. As the activists entered the parking lot of the Travel Plaza, heavy rain began to fall, and the group was confronted by several police cars. The twenty-eight attempted to return to their cars when suddenly they were surrounded by dozens of police cars and wagons.
