Has the Bush administration drastically understated the U.S. military death count by redefining "death"? The following article suggests that it has, and it calls for a nationwide campaign to honor deceased service members by naming and counting them.
According to the article: "...DoD lists currently being very quietly circulated indicate almost 9,000 [U.S. military] dead"; this far exceeds the "official" death count of 1,831. How can this be? It's largely because "U.S. Military Personnel who died in German hospitals or en route to German hospitals have not previously been counted."

The Fix is In - American Media Ignore Downing Street Memo
Over the last month, the American media has studiously avoided a story that has dominated the rest of the world. A leak transcript of a meeting with the British Prime Minister well before the invasion of Iraq showed that the US had decided to go to war even though it had no proof of weapons of mass destruction. Mainstream media argue that there is no news, that the American people already knew that the Bush admistration was mistaken. Conservative talk show hosts continue to deny that there are any problems. In a small, cramped room in the Capitol, Cong. Conyers held hearings on the Downing Street Memo. Ralph Nader, the Green Party and Rep. Maurice Hinchey call for impeachment.

Big Media Interlocks with Corporate America
A research team at Sonoma State University has recently finished conducting a network analysis of the boards of directors of the ten big media organizations in the US. The team determined that only 118 people comprise the membership on the boards of director of the ten big media giants. This is a small enough group to fit in a moderate size university classroom. These 118 individuals in turn sit on the corporate boards of 288 national and international corporations. In fact, eight out of ten big media giants share common memberships on boards of directors with each other. It is kind of like one big happy family of interlocks and shared interests.

Behind all the optimistic talk about the health of world capitalism from Bush, Blair etc, the more serious analysts are worried. In its semi-annual report, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), representing the richest 26 countries in the world, announced that it is cutting its forecasts for all leading economies. The OECD also forecast that the US current account deficit would continue to rise, hitting nearly $900 billion or 6.7% of US GDP in 2006.

Jew Card played to cover up 9/11 connection
It isn't just that some pamphlet was distributed outside the Conyers hearings on June 16, and that a connection was cited in that pamphlet linking 9/11 to Israeli financing -- NO, THERE'S MORE TO IT THAN THAT. And what there is makes it very clear why the Jew Card had to be played to obscure what had actually happened at the hearing!

WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT:

Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern testified as an expert at Conyers' Downing Street Memo hearing. McGovern spoke briefly about Israel and recalled how he once suggested to his CIA boss that Israel may have financed 9/11, after which his boss called him anti-semitic for making that suggestion. Washington Post hack Dana Milbank used this remark to try to discredit McGovern.

IT'S A LOT MORE THAN JUST SOME PAMPHLET passed out by "anti-Semites"!

Hillary bubble bursts
If you believed the pundits of corporate media, you'd be convinced that Hillary Clinton has already cinched the 2008 presidential nomination. Even if you just follow Indymedia, you'd hear that same story from the left (Dave Lindorff) and from the right (Pat Buchanan).

And it may be true! The powers-that-be just may be able to get away with another travesty like when Kerry was somehow featured as the great white hope and ONLY way to beat Bush!

BUT IT MAY BE ANOTHER BIG FAT LIE TOO! If the voting machines can be fixed before 2008 so that what regular rank-and-file Democrats think actually matters -- assuming that they do think -- then the Hillary bubble is seen as nothing more than another media frenzy about to implode!

BOOK INTRO: _Did Bush [& corp. media] Steal 2004 Election? Ohio's Essential Documents_
free intro to 737 page book of documentation, where, given the lack of audiability or verifiability that he won, Bush as well as any upcoming "election" of national scale in many states of the U.S. should be considered entirely media events only and bogus from the point of view of democratic elections. In short, Bush's illegitimacy and lack of total credibilty for holding the office of President of the United States, due to lack of verifiability of votes, can be assured.

"The research and writing in this book has focussed on Ohio, where we have been collectively reporting on electoral politics for more than three decades. [However,] [a]s the documents in the final chapter and appendix to this book show, the bitter controversy over the vote count in Ohio has been mirrored in other
key states around the US." --- "To date, there has been no credible, independent audit of these machines, not in Ohio or in any other state. In Ohio, Secretary of State Blackwell issued an order in the weeks following the election that all 2004 election records, paper and electronic, were to be sealed from public access and inspection. As of this book's publication date, those records remain unobtainable." --- "Major pollsters and their national media clients still refuse to release the raw data." --- "...unfortunate lack of transparency calls all U.S. elections into question."

WaPo plays phoney Jew Card
Congressman John Conyers, with a lot of help from his friends, has accomplished an amazing turn-around of corporate media's blackout on the Downing Street Minutes.

Following yesterday's event (hearing and rally in front of the White House), the Washington Post published a very disappointing article covering those monumentally important events. Conyers, as reported in blogs today, is very critical of the WaPo article -- particularly of the WaPo reporter playing of a phoney Jew Card to discredit the entire movement to expose the truth about how the invasion of Iraq was sold to the American people.

SO HERE IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO.
The Bush administration and their friends in the media want this story to go away. More than want it to go away, they are in a panic, and will do everything they can to stop it. They will use every dirty trick, every paid shill, every presstitute that they can. Already there is a report that the Michael Jackson jury is "expected" to reach a verdict just before the Conyers hearings.

So, I want YOU to copy this article off, post it everywhere. This article is placed in the public domain. Mail it to your friends. Then send it to your local media and your Congresscritters and have everyone you know do the same. Get on the phones. Flood their offices.

The term is "Viral Marketing" where you get the people who need a product to market it for you. Well, this nation NEEDS this "product". It needs to know that this war was started with lies. INTENTIONAL lies. And they need to know there is something they can do about it, and that is to start pounding on the doors of power.
